Elton John Tumbleweed Connection SACD: Screen shot 2015-10-17 at 2.27.51 PM.png Currently the QQ Hi Rez Poll number 22, a tad bright (at times) for me but a fine surround offering indeed. Love Song is outstanding. That reminds me, the Sheila Nicholls version is also good

Peter Gabriel - Down to Earth. I was watching Wall-e with my son and let the final credits run. To my surprise, Gabriel's song is mixed in surround! It's too late here to play it loud, but the mixed looked like discrete. Need to check it tomorrow at daytime

I've found a lot of great music mixed in surround at the end of movies while the credits play on Blu-ray discs (especially John Williams scores!). The song "Orion" at the end of "Through The Never" (by Metallica) is great (especially if you turn up the rears a few decibels).

Joseph Haydn - String quartets op.71 (DVD-A).
Auryn Quartet.

I also picked this up the other day. This cycle of Haydn's quartets by the Auryn quartet sounds great in both DVD-A and Bluray.

In light of the news of the impending arrival of the new and improved Steven Wilsonized "Octopus" from Gentle Giant ( thank you, thank you, thank you, can't say it enough...thank you Mr. Wilson your passion is greatly appreciated! ) ...now listening to: "Free Hand" Quad DTS 96/24 then "in'terview" Quad DTS 96/24 - and last but defiantly not the least, the powerful and glorious "The Power and The Glory" Blu-Ray DTS 5.1 Master Audio!!! "The Power and The Glory" The template for how all 5.1 should be done!

Tomita - Clair The Lune - Quad SACD

The music is perfect to watch the tiny snowflakes that are falling at the moment on this cold day. :)

In anticipation of the 1+ Blu-Ray set, I'm enjoying Love by The Beatles (DVD-A).

I'm surprised that there hasn't been any huge marketing push yet...it's only 3 weeks until the scheduled release and I haven't seen anything yet...

In the the world we live in at the moment, which has an extremely short attention span, I have the impression that there will be a media blitz a week before the release. I could be wrong of course... ;)

I LOVE that song!
Been one of my recent favorites from that album, especially in surround! :)

Then you must also like Summer Turns To High and Beachball from their album Reveal. I know I'm in the minority here (and that's fine) but I think that Up, Reveal and Around The Sun is a fabulous string of albums that shows the band at their peak in the studio. All three albums shine in 5.1!

Yes, those are good songs too.
"Up", "Reveal", and "Around the Sun" are good albums, and they all come off very well in surround, but I still continue to visit the other Warner albums more than those, simply because I think the music is better on the others.

Just had an afternoon of Rush :sun. Signals bluray, Farewell to Kings dvda, Moving Pictures bluray.

I know they're not the best surround mixes around by far, but still an enjoyable listen, especially when the music is as good as Farewell to Kings and Moving Pictures. Sorry Mr Moore, but I've never really been able to get into Signals much, and the surround mix hasn't improved this album for me as much as I'd hoped it would.
