Chicago Transit Authority - S/T; Blu-ray 4.0, 192k
What else can be said here? One of the most beautifully open and engaged quad mixes I’ve heard. Amazingly for their first album, Chicago is at the height of their composing and performance powers (IMO). The low end is spectacular and highlights Cetera’s incredible bass playing, something that got lost later on when commercial success arrived. Superb!

Couldn't agree more, kid. I was very disappointed in Rhino/Warner's CTA DTS 4.0 first attempt ...... Anyone who thinks LOSSY DTS is as capable of reproducing the music accurately like LOSSLESS 24/192 should have their head examined. The BD~A is spectacular!

For what it was worth, the dts version was the ONLY 4.0 version in digital that could be had at the time almost a decade ago.

Noted but at the time Rhino also received a lot of queries as to why it wasn't issued as a LOSSLESS DVD~Audio .........And it was priced @ $30 for a stand alone DTS 4.0 QUAD DVD~R [NO Stereo layer nor RBCD was included].

But RHINO/Warner did make amends by pricing the QUADIO Chicago Box Set at, IMO, a VERY reasonable price point.

Imagine how much better Fleetwood Mac's TUSK and first Warner album [Fleetwood Mac] would sound as LOSSLESS BD~As as opposed to DTS and DD DVD~Vs, respectively? And it only would've cost Rhino a few dollars more for those BD~As...and I'm sure we'd be willing to pay a few dollars more for the UPGRADE!

The KID! You took the words right outta my fingertips! CTA was gone B my next pick from my Desert Island list on the @edisonbaggins thread! Well, it's not like there's a dearth of excellence on Quadio, so since I'm #2, I'm going with

One of the all-time great sophomore releases. How testicular to follow up a dynamite double album with yet another double-barrelled blast that builds on the impressive foundation laid down by its predecessor? Hell, I'd even go so far as to say they topped the debut, though the debut holds a dear spot in my heart--never forget what li'l 9-year-old clement felt the first time he heard the double album played on his best friend's sister's portable phonograph . . . first time anything was able to divert my attention from her fineness! Listening to it now in glorious Quad, it still takes my breath away!

Still listening to Toy Matinee....now a big favorite. Found a DVDA by shredder Paul Gilbert "Alligator Farm"....
Picked up a lot of DVD 5.1 blues/jazz.... Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Joe Bonomassa, Clapton of course

Can I squeak in -Non- official surround listens? I did an upmix a long time ago of UFO's first album Phenomenon; Too Young To Know (no), Doctor Doctor (please) and all those tunes everyone over 65 knows. lol. Saw them at one of the
(12?) Rock SuperBowls at the old Tangerine Bowl in Orlando.

Sure am glad they came out with the Quadio Chicago. And no doubt all these albums (the FM's) would have been great as 96/24 MLP or even better as you said as BD-A dts Master HD.
