The KID! You took the words right outta my fingertips! CTA was gone B my next pick from my Desert Island list on the @edisonbaggins thread! Well, it's not like there's a dearth of excellence on Quadio, so since I'm #2, I'm going with

One of the all-time great sophomore releases. How testicular to follow up a dynamite double album with yet another double-barrelled blast that builds on the impressive foundation laid down by its predecessor? Hell, I'd even go so far as to say they topped the debut, though the debut holds a dear spot in my heart--never forget what li'l 9-year-old fred (aka clement) felt the first time he heard the double album played on his best friend's sister's portable phonograph . . . first time anything was able to divert my attention from her fineness! Listening to it now in glorious Quad, it still takes my breath away!
Chicago II was already an amazing double album, but the Quadio Box 4.0 Blu-ray takes it to another incredible level. One hell of a one-two punch by these Illinois boys!!!!

Just got a new (to me) couch at my new house. Been sitting in my lazy-boy the last two months and got used to the sound from there. The couch is about a foot and a half further back in the room and it has made a massive difference in the sound. About 18" back and probably about 3" lower overall has completely changed the way my setup sounds. I re-ran Audyssey and re-eq'd my subs, and the complete surround field seems so much more cohesive together and the subs just absolutely slam, in a good way.

Been sampling all the best surround stuff all evening:

Amin Bhatia, Blue Man Group, Eagles, Gordon Goodwin, Grover Washington, Steven Wilson, and now Nine Inch Иails. 🍻 :smokin

And another Waldrep drop of surround goodness......

The Grant Geissman Quartet
There and Back Again

In my humble opnion Mr Mark Waldrep is up there with the top surround engineers.
Everything is just so clear and his placement is spot on.
You can tell that this man has a fantastic passion for surround music.

Right, I need to hunt out some more of his releases.
The search continues.

Love Phenomenon. How did the upmix sound?
At the time it sounded pretty good, but that may have been due to the refreshment intake. I was looking for it a while ago and for some reason one of my HTPC's HDD is not showing up. Hopefully I'll get all that fixed when I get time (hurricane headed for Florida-lots to do).

Paul McCartney - The McCartney Years (DVD-V)

Just got this in the mail today. Wow! I’m blown away by how good these mixes are. Particularly the 80’s stuff - when the drums kick in it’s often startling. Paul’s vocals sound awesome in the center channel and there’s plenty of action in the rears, everything from backing vocals to orchestral arrangements and even lead guitar show up up back there. I actually like these versions of the Band On The Run tracks better than the quad mixes.

I recently spent time with this set via interlibrary loan, and I’m in full agreement that the mixes are *terrific*. (At least on Disc One — Disc Two wouldn’t play on my Oppo. But, since the interlibrary loan was free, I wasn’t out anything.)

In fact, the mixes are *so* good that I’m that much more annoyed over the set’s omissions. I really wish they had gone the Lennon Legend route and created videos (with photo montages/rare footage/whatever) for other key hits like “Jet”, “Listen To What The Man Said”, “Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey”, etc. I’m also annoyed that they only included “Baby’s Request” from Back To The Egg, and left off the videos for “Getting Closer” and “Arrow Through Me” (which are a couple of my favorite Macca tunes). And the Band On The Run photo shoot bonus really makes me regret the absence of “Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five”.

And yet, they had room for the freaking “Eleanor’s Dream” featurette??

My disc 2 won't play on my oppo Bdp 103 or Sony x800...
Any ideas?
I have an older oppo DVD player?!?!

I recall there were issues were DISC 2 being defective. I have the set but never got past Disc 1.......I believe Clint did ask me when I purchased the set if Disc 2 played OK ....... So it's probably NOT your players.
