Do you like the surround on this?
I was reading the old reviews but nothing recent.

Women On Top (snicker) has a very respectable surround mix and a good collection of songs (and pictures) from the 80's.

Also search out Classic Rock and Classic Country if you don't already have them, these are pretty good as well. Those are the only Inside The Music discs I'm interested in, but there are also Jazz, Surf and other collections as well.

Tonight's been a Porcupine Tree night. :smokin 🍻

1999 Stupid Dream (sounds amazing-barely compressed-one of my favorite mix-master)
2000 Lightbulb Sun (also sounds amazing-no compression at all-great mix-fairly decent master)
2002 In Absentia (compressed and treble boosted-mildly fatiguing-great mix-horrible master-great album)
2005 Deadwing (not near as compressed, but compressed-treble isn't boosted-not too fatiguing-great mix-not quite hammered dogshit master)

This is seriously get down and get funky. 👨‍🍳 He cookin' up a treat.
Mike, I really need to go back and listen to this one again. I believe I’ve only played it once, and shockingly since I’m also a Prince fan. I recall thinking it was too bright sounding or maybe too harsh and compressed, not sure. I also need to do some research into production personnel etc. One main question about this one for me has always been; what did Prince think about this Maceo album in SACD surround? Prince was an obvious fan and supporter of Maceo, and James Brown music. Could that have eventually nudged Prince into producing a surround album of his own at some point; or did he even care?

For Prince it was all about the now...I don't think he was ever introduced to surround music...and by the time his career was waning, I suspect surround music, would have been the last thing on his mind. I don't have a problem with brightness or compression on this release pups...I think it's just mighty fine.
