i'm sorry that there isn't a Poll for it at this time and i am not having a go at you, however it feels like a bit of an unfair potshot at DV ๐Ÿ™

i'd like to respectfully counter the suggestion that artists such as..

Argent, Art Garfunkel, Billy Paul, Blood Sweat & Tears, Charlie Rich, Chase, Deodato, Donald Byrd, Earth Wind & Fire, George Benson, Guess Who, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, Henry Mancini, Herbie Hancock, Johnnie Taylor, MFSB, Michel Legrand, O'Jays, Poco, Return To Forever, Rick Derringer, Ronnie Milsap, Tomita, Tower Of Power, Weather Report, etc..

..are "cheap" because to me the DV Quads released so far are a rich varied selection of quality music by many artists of repute.

none of it is current music, some of it is musically "of its time" and the mixes too are 40-odd years old when studio technology was perhaps less advanced in some respects than it is now.

everyone's entitled to their opinion, of course and one man's trash is another man's treasure for sure ๐Ÿ™‚

it just seems a bit harsh maybe to demean DV's product because you don't yet have a Poll for something you enjoy more?

ah i dunno.. peace and love ๐Ÿ•Šโค

.. and back to our scheduled programming ๐Ÿค“

NOT to mention AMAZING and varied Classical selections from the pristine QUAD mastertapes of RCA Red Seal and Columbia Masterworks hailing from some of the greatest artists of the 20th Century......never before heard in such stunning sonics unless you were a recording engineer at those sessions.

And UNLIKE a LOT of modern remixes from more popular and current artists, those 70's QUAD engineers KNEW how to remix for surround and I've heard NO complaints that the center channel is mute or detracts from the overall remix because QUAD does render a perfect phantom center image and the sensation of being surrounded is, IMO, much more palpable than current remix engineers who haven't a clue how to remix for surround.

There HAVE been so many poor shows from a lot of those pricey box sets which for a single or double surround disc, one is asked to shell out a veritable fortune only to be disappointed by the remix. Not to mention those expensive box sets which only support LOSSY codecs, which, while fine for some, will hardly stand the test of time as one upgrades to separate components and/or better speakers. D~V's SACDs are LOSSLESS and IMO, represent a mirror image of those 15 i.p.s. master tapes.

NOT SO with D~V........for less than the price of a hamburger/fries/soft drink at a local diner, Michael Dutton delivers 2 stunning QUAD remasters on a single disc with mostly new and informative liner notes and I've never ever received a defective disc from Dutton Vocalion.

And for those who feel 'stuck' with music that is not really their cup o' tea [easy listening, etc.] should be aware that since they are hybrids would make perfect gifts to a parent, elderly neighbor or maiden aunt for playback on their dvd/cd players.....so Percy, Ray or even poor Helen Reddy won't have to languish on some heavy metalist's or punk rocker's shelf ignored .... and abandoned.

That looks highly desirable. Don't think I've seen that over here.
Bass ale, Watney's red barrel & Newcastle brown were 3 of my favorites.
Out of those three, Bass Pale Ale and Newcastle Brown are still available.
Both of which are very nice beers.

Watney's Red Barrel disappeared, many moons ago, from our pubs.

I was weened on that stuff in the late 60's early 70's!!
