And we go back 4 more years:

This is a mixed bag - some of the tracks sounds awesome, like the Bee Gees tracks, some of the others came out really bad.

That's weird...you might the Bee Gees would be perfect for SpecWeb....oh well. I keep hoping we might get Bee Gees in QUAD 4.0!!

Mark Knopfler-Sailing to Philadelphia...it's funny I passed on this disc a few years ago...I was afraid it was too far from his other music like Brothers In Arms...that I liked... I'm so glad I picked this up recently...I'm sitting here listening to it(looking at a newspaper)and all of a sudden it hits me...hey...that's Van The Man...and sure enough it was Van Morrison singing "the last laugh"...that put a huge smile on my face...of course having James Taylor on this disc is also a huge perk for me...I'm only on song 7 and I can strongly endorse buying this disc...sound quality is excellent as well....you can pick one up HERE

My favourite of his "solo" albums.

This came out really good:

I love the music and performance........just wish the surround was better.Still worth having, though.:)

Agree, glad I have this one. Video is so-so (although considering it's outside at night in '79, maybe not so bad). Surrounds are seeing minimal use for sure, but not so different from other BD concerts I guess. Other than the surround issue, the sonics are pretty good. And they certainly were on top of their game during the '79 BIA tour. :music

It was an interesting project for this disc...the sad part is the sound was compromised...by design....they actually put microphones in the audience...the concept was for the listener to feel as though they were in the audience...not what you want for surround music...and the concert was shot on 16mm film and the master tapes were found in the barn of the drummer(and only American in the band)Bob Siebenberg and were in bad shape...I always consider this disc as a time machine...certainly not an audio treasure...but remarkably good for what they had to work with...you got to see this band at their peak...and to me it's priceless to have..
