Yes indeed. I know, I know I've said it before but I just can't help myself when anyone here comments about Islands....imo one of SW's finest mixes.

I've never picked it up because I didn't like the album enough on YouTube. Might be worth giving it another chance.
Islands, Poseidon and the debut have never appealed to me enough.

All three of them are stunningly good in surround sound, particularly "In the Court of the Crimson King".
You may just have to skip over "The Devil's Triangle" if you purchase "In the Wake of Poseidon". Not only is it an upmix, but the music is pretty terrible IMHO. Other than that, there's a lot to all of those albums that really shine in surround sound. :)

Early KCrimson is a bit difficult to "get into" once you started with later "versions" of the band...it's funny that back in 81 I did not like Discipline, but I LOVED SaBB...I'm still trying to get into early KCrimson..

Ya know, Holst and Manfred Mann do kinda look alike now that I see the pic.

It seem that Manfred is a fan of Holst's The Planets

Masque is an album released in 1987 by Manfred Mann's Earth Band.
The album is subtitled Songs And Planets and features some parts of Gustav Holst's Planets Suite. It represents the completion of an original project started back in 1973, which planned to use Holst's work as a basis. This was ultimately shelved because the band were unable to obtain formal permission from Holst's estate, although some of the idea of a concept album dealing with the solar system could be seen on the band's 1973 album Solar Fire.

Vivaldi - The Four Seasons, Concertos for Double Orchestra - David Juritz, London Mozart Players (DVDA, Naxos)
I'm by now means an expert of classical music, so I can't rate the performance (Lute are you out there?). But what I can tell you is that the surround mix, particularly for the Concertos for Double Orchestra is great, one orchestra in the fronts, the other in the rears.

Bob Dylan, Love and Theft, 5.1 SACD. I like it. I still have a few more Dylan surrounds to go and I have been pleased by all so far. Yes, some more discrete than others but all good in the world of surround.
