I was working from home today, so I decided not to listen to anything in the new arrivals to the "to listen to in surround" pile.

So I went back in time and played Nektar's "Journey To The Centre Of The Eye" 5.1 SACD (for a 2005 mix its really in keeping with the spirit of 70s Quad), followed by Edgar Winter's "Jasmine Nights" DTS CD (nice surround mix) and then Jackson Browne's "Running On Empty" DVD-A (on the songs recorded in hotel rooms & on the bus it sounds like you're sitting in with them) - an album that takes me back to my 2nd year at Uni, and the folly's of youth!

I couldn't understand why the songs on the DVD sounded so different until I read the story of how he recorded it...for those that aren't aware...here is some background...running on empty was one of my "go to" songs.."back in the day"

Genesis Selling England By The Pound SACD: Haven't listened to this is in maybe a year? Thought I didn't like it but I do. Just wanted to check the LFE/SW status on this disc with my player and receiver in light of the recent posts. Can't wait to give this a proper spin this weekend.
