Need to check this one out again but your comment about wife only tolerating it for only a short time made me laugh as same sentiment for many of what I think are fantastic albums and my wife can't stand some of my listening stuff......

She HATES Primus. With a passion. I get away with some really high listening volumes when it's something she enjoys ( SW's various projects, Anathema, even some KC) but I generally save Primus for when she's working late, or we're mad at each other and I want to fan the flames a bit... ;)

Steven Wilson - Grace for Drowning

in memory of my music accomplice's father, who just passed away

Thank you for lending us your garage when we were teens (dealing with the neighbours complaints and the police's visits!), and for letting us use your precious Martin acoustic guitar. :)

Enjoy the great gig in the sky!

Like this one a lot too:

Oh, Brother. :)

Yes. I will warn you that the surround mix is not the reason to get the CD/DVD. If the video content or extra audio doesn't interest you, just pass.
The sound quality of the 5.1 material is ok, but not wonderful. The surround mix is probably either pure big stereo or maybe the stereo mix run through some kind of mild upmix/frequency filter type of application. I rarely heard, and possibly imagined, anything dedicated to the rears.
Still, I'm a big fan and glad I found the DVD. If not for anything else, it features a live rendition of Atlanta, one of my favorite STP songs.

Followed by...Miles Davis Live at Montreux 1991 5.1 blu ray

This concert was done just a couple months before his passing, and realizing how special it was, Sony provided a hi def video recording set up and two 48 track audio recorders. Both video and audio are amazing on this disc :upthumb

Esteban - Enter The Heart DVD-Audio MLP 5.1 lossless

As usually typical of DVD-Audio, this sounds so warm, inviting and immersive. Wonderful, a couple earworms here and there, but in general not a discreet tour de force..nonetheless excellent sounding. What did I pay? $6 for a used copy shipped? It's in new condition.
