Well then I'm really glad I didn't waste my money on this disc if it doesn't play correctly.

In the meantime, I'm revisiting my Blood Sweat & Tears 4.0 SACD from Audio Fidelity. :)

It seems it is just my copy? Other say Katatonia disc is fine.

Katatonia The Fall Of Hearts. There is an error on this DVD. The tracks will not play after each other. Once a track is over it is just silence although the seconds are going by on the bottom right. You have to press fast forward to get the next track to start.

As far as mix goes....................Mostly great, one annoying issue. Recessed, weak sounding guitars. Full review to come...............

This sounds like the same authoring problem that Nosound's Afterthoughts has on the MLP tracks - though it plays fine in DTS... But, like I previously mentioned, I'm not experiencing any problems with my Katatonia disc...

Anyway, I'm on about my third play through in surround, and about my forth or fifth listen of the album, overall. I stand by my initial statements regarding the surround mix; I think it's excellent. Very active surround field, and instrument placement sounds natural and appropriate throughout the different channels. Nothing gimicky going on for the most part, but there are some flashy moments that make me turn my head towards the rear channels. However, those moments are handled tastefully. Plenty of dynamic headroom, and just sounds better and better the louder you go with it.

Musically, I'm still not sure. Still wrapping my head around this one, but it's growing, and the melodies and hooks are slowly revealing themselves. For the most part, they're treading familiar ground. There's not a whole lot new going on from the DEK and Dethroned albums, but it does sound like a natural progression from those two. It kind of feels like a fusion of the hard-edged DEK, and the more ambient, atmospheric, acoustic-ish interpretation of the DEK material on Dethroned.

Nosound - Short Story 5.1 FLAC preview

...and it's over, dangit. Sounds fantastic. This little two and a half minute preview makes the wait for September that much more unbearable!

On to the next. I'm thinking some Relayer. Haven't listened to this one in a while.

Opeth - Pale Communion - Bluray 5.1

Replacement disc or true correct disc, done via audacity?

This is one annoying mix. The bottom end is ridiculous, in a bad way. The truly correct version is much worse than the replacement disc which is still out of phase. Kick drum the most dominant I have ever heard on any disc. Bass guitar is also missing. SW messed up.

Listen and tell me where the bass guitar is? Most of the time is not audible at all.

Eek. Not sure how to answer all that. It's just the disc that I purchased. It sounded fine, though I wasn't blasting it.
