Replacement disc or true correct disc, done via audacity?

This is one annoying mix. The bottom end is ridiculous, in a bad way. The truly correct version is much worse than the replacement disc which is still out of phase. Kick drum the most dominant I have ever heard on any disc. Bass guitar is also missing. SW messed up.

Listen and tell me where the bass guitar is? Most of the time is not audible at all.

I dunno, keenly. I absolutely love this mix, and I think the corrected disc sounds considerably more balanced than the messed up disc - which was almost anemic, bass-wise.

And looking at this photo that Wildman posted in the Pale Communion replacement thread, nothing stands out as an immediate difference... (defective disc on top)

No bass guitar most of the album. Have another listen.

Every night it's the same problem: What do I listen to TONIGHT???

Tonight it's David Crosby's "If Only I Could Remember My Name" DVDA paired with a Great Lakes' pilsner, almost-appropriately named, "Turntable Pils".

Well...Mr Bob Dylan is 75...how about a little Love and Theft. QQ's own Bob Squires Jr gave me a copy back in 2011. I never played it much but I can tell you fer sure I'm thrilled to be able to play it tonight.

From the Hi-Rez Poll thread:

I don't have this one, but I remembered reading about it.

*After further reading:

At the risk of sounding really dumb, is the bluray matrix the number on the back of the BD?
Mine is:
S1 16861 75735BD/1.2 V02 TLW

This is different enough from the examples, that I'm dubious it is the matrix you guys are talkin' bout. But I can't find other such numbers anywhere on the package.

Thanks.

Dug this chestnut out of the pile tonight and was really wowed by the spectacular sound and magnificent playing. If you like movie music add this to your collection http://www.amazon.com/Film-Busters-Various-Artists/dp/B00006IT69

From: http://www.allmusic.com/album/release/film-busters-mr0001253354

"A collection of movie themes performed by the Royal Philharmonic and London Symphony Orchestras, Film Busters features over 60 years' worth of classic film music, including the main themes from 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Godfather, Gone With the Wind, and The Great Escape. While these performances are somewhat anonymous compared to the original renditions in the movies' scores, Film Busters is still a decent collection of movie music for film buffs who don't need or want the original or complete scores that are represented here."

Good ole' Ludwig von Beethoven...

Symphonie no. 4

Sir Simon Rattle
Berliner Philarmoniker

BD DTS-MA BD DISC!!!

it sounds soooooo clean....yeah...I Hate to admit it but the D/A converters on the BD system are superior then the DVA-A ones ..although only by a TINY little bit... i.e. , in my system...

Anthony Phillips Geese and the Ghost

Just got it today, and I'm only a few songs in. Beautiful, dreamy stuff. I was also surprised to find out that this was an actual DVD-audio!(y) Very nice! I don't know why, but I've been under the impression that this was just DTS 96/24. Or, maybe I just assumed it was, because that tends to be the norm anymore...

Anyway, definitely a nice surprise!

Baggs, mine shows the same matrix numbers as the ones ji eff, posted "The corrected disc matrix: 3 175735V2.1.A VD01" (and yes, on the back of the disc)

If you purchased yours sometime after the initial release, it's possible that yours is from a completely different batch. I'd say chances are, yours is a corrected disc.
