New in the mail today, great disc, love the surround mix and the songs, maybe a little loud.

I've just received this and I'm floored by the sound quality on this Quad.

Absolutely stunning work from Gus, Kevin and the Audio Fidelity crew! Thank you! I also enjoy the album itself tremendously. :)

I'm not being very original. I've played this disc tree times in a row. This is a keeper gang!

I had to force myself to change discs. This one fits my Lazy Friday mood perfectly:

Thrak 5.1. An absolutely perfect mix from Jakko. A wild surround mix for a wild album.

Now, I know it's been discussed numerous times before, but after looking around for a minute, I couldn't find the answer: What's the most recent word on the next KC albums? Last I knew, Construkction of Light was a no-go. Has RF's thinking changed on COL? Any plans for Power to Believe, or is Thrak the end of it (not counting Beat and Perfect Pair)?

"Power To Believe" was one of the 40th anniversary series, (although it was released originally in 2003).If they keep to the original planned 5.1 DVDA's it would be the last title.

If both TCOL and TPTB are to be remixed and released as part of the 40th anniversary series, it won't be until next year at the very earliest. (This year is all about the 80s.) Plus Jakko would have to be the one remixing them (or at least someone else other than Steven Wilson, he's done with the Crimson series)
For me personally, if it happens, cool. If it doesn't, I'm not crying over it. Those two albums are among my least favorites, and I'm just happy that the remaining 80s albums will finally be out this fall. We have been waiting too long for those! :)

I'm loving this disc...lots of interesting things going on and of course Simon Phillips on drums adds some punch.

If I had one criticism, Gene, its that it was over all too soon.. but then is that such a bad thing? You just start it all over again.. or better still keep it on a permanent loop.. ;) It also implies to me that Mr. Reed has plenty of juice left in the tank, in as much as he is saving up material for Sanctuary III, IV, V... in the future.. hehe

Yes, considering it's just "2 songs", it does rather seem to end....with me wanting more. :)

Technically not "surround" in the eyes of many....this 3 channel SACD of Brubeck's Time Out SACD...but it's multi channel on my Denon:)...I'm only on song 2 and this thing is a WOW disc..Blue Rondo A La Turk sounded incredible..and I don't mean just for a vintage recording(late 50's)...for any recording...I'm not sure I will be able to survive Time Out...AP has done a great job on this disc...I'm sure Quad Linda is happy with her version on 5.1...but I can't imagine any version being better than this one..Oh my...Take Five has just begun...geeze....this is the cat's meow:kitty:

Well, OK - this is Smiley Smile, which I ran through Specweb for a 5.1 upmix. :) In some parts, it sounds awesome. Could pass for a legit surround mix.
