David Crosby - If I Could Only Remember My Name (DVD-A)

I'm listening to this album for the very first time in my life and in glorious 5.1. What a vibe there is on this album. Absolutely love it!

I hear great things too, may have to pick this one up. Could you tell me where you got the DVD-A Simon?

This is my lucky day for sweet sounding discs. I assure you that despite the title, Rachmaninov did not write a soundtrack for a George Romero nor a Michael Bay film. :D

Rachmaninvov - The Isle Of The Dead / The Rock / Symphonic Dances (SACD)

This one is so lush that if it were a dessert, it'd be Peaches & Cream. This is the sort of disc which makes you press Play again as soon as it's finished.

If you were to add a mermaid on the cover, it would be right at home with LPs from the 50's by Les Baxter and Nelson Riddle. As for the music, it is simply gorgeous. I think the BIS label puts out excellent SACDs.

Seascapes - Debussy (La mer) / Bridge (The Sea) / Glazunov (La mer) / Zhou Long (The Deep, Deep Sea) (SACD)

Sharon Bezaly / Lan Shui & Singapore Symphony Orchestra

This was one of my first acquisitions when I restarted my audio hobby.

This album makes you feel stoned just listening to it. Crosby makes use of his hippy friends, including an assist here and there by Joni Mitchell, Gerry Garcia, Niel Young, Graham Nash, Grace Slick, Paul Kantner, Greg Rolie, etc. It sounds like they really got into the "groove" while making this music. :smokin:smokin:smokin

FYI - it's available on Amazon US at a very reasonable price.

This is my third version of this beautiful work. The first two are classic Quads from 1975 and this one is a 2005 DSD recording. It's a different vibe altogether and although it's really good, I still prefer the other two. Still, for the price, you cannot go wrong if you pick it up.

Smetana: Má vlast / Sir Colin Davis & The London Symphony Orchestra (SACD)

Only dts 5.1 754 kbps - but it sounds way better than most of my Hi-Rez Blu Ray concerts.

Pere Ubu: The Modern Dance

Just got this today and it's a great big wonderful surprise. I've played it 5 times in a row and every-time feels like the first time. Infectious bass, drums and guitar. I love it!

It is one of the very BEST surround discs from Silverline I have ever heard.Too bad this end of an era (silverline surround) was coming to an end.
Just when they got it right, yet.!! Excellent late 70's punk too.
This disc can compete with the best 5.1 discs from any and all the other labels, WB, EMI, UMG, etc, etc.

Stampede - Doobies

ALL The Doobie Brothers Quads need to be reissued ---- NOW.
(imho  )

just THE most insanely good surround music mixes, for the most part..
(imho :D )

I was so very impressed with all FOUR CD-4 DOOBIE BROTHER'S discs that I wrote a nice letter providing many & much compiments to the Warner Bros.Quad mix team any and all involved for giving this quadraphile the best listening experience of the 70's !

(y)(y)(y)(y)ALL 4 DISCS=EXCELLENT QUAD, as it should be heard.

Now A.F. has to get these out, I think!!

-and STEELY DAN'S QUADS, and FRANK ZAPPA'S QUADS and any Elliot Scheiner mixed or remixed for 5.1that have been far too long STALLED !!!!
This QQ member and lover of quad and five.one appeals to ANY label willing to take my money.:smokin

Currently enjoying Mike Oldfields 1984 suite, well done. Quite active mix, The Lake works wonderful in 5.1

Hm, shouldn't there be a poll for this? Or isn't 1984 Suite seen as a stand alone album?
