Listening now to SACD Jeff Beck Group "Jeff Beck Group " and next same release by Audio Fidelity. Japanese SACD in 5.1 and the Audio Fidelity in 4.0. Doing critical listen with pen and paper. Il be back later with my thoughts on the two MCH releases. Both releases are Hybrid SACD.

maybe part of that is that unpopular = less familiar..?

I know that's the case with me.. and it has been (and continues to be) one of the most exciting aspects of this Quad/5.1 surround music hobby, discovering so many artists and albums I would have possibly never known about or considered had it not been for their music being available in some form of MultiChannel..

I feel like I'm on a constant musical journey...thanks to multichannel.

The past 2 days I went to 5 different music stores and picked up the following SACDs

Vivino Bros. Blues Band
Mabel Gonzãles. Contame Una Historia
Michael Schierf. Clouds and Silver linings
Friedemann. The Concert
Oregon. Beyond Words
Sam Cooke. Tribute to a Lady (stereo)
Sam Cooke. Portrait of a Legend (stereo)

Classica Venezolana
Arvo Part. Creator Spiritus
A bridge of dreams. Hillier
Baltic Runes. Hillier
Purcell. Dido & Aeneas
Butterworth. Idyll banks of the green willow
Mendelssohn. 6 organ sonatas
Chopin. Piano concerto, Kern
Russian Moments. Haring
Martinu/Dorati/Hollinger oboe music
Hugo Kaun. Chamber music
Dvorák Symphony 9. Harnoncourt (DVDA)
Goldmark Violin concerto. Irnberger

Did I forget anything? Probably. LOL! And...I'm still waiting on AF's BOC. Well, I've got plenty to keep me busy.

Now listening to Vivino Bros. - Blues Band. (SACD)

Great jams and fidelity. Just wish it was more discrete. The rears are only ambient.

King Crimson - Radical Action...

Steven Wilson - The Raven That Refused to Sing

I really try to mix it up and listen to lots of different stuff, but I keep getting drawn back to this one again and again.

Tchaikovsky: Suite from Swan Lake
Glazunov: 2 Concert Waltzes
Shostakovich: The Golden Age
Stravinsky: Circus Polka

Orchestre de la Suisse Romande
Kazuki Yamada (conductor)
(SACD Pentatone)
