That's so fascinating how the DVD authoring and design stayed exactly the same from the box set to the individual releases, even though the individual releases do not bear the "Premonitions" name or artwork at all...

I was thinking of you Ryan when I took this pic, and I agree good buddy. It is a little strange but welcome I think, anyway.:music

The other two standalones do not contain this menu, btw.

Very good Q8 conversion. I never do stereo when cruising QQ :)

Listening to Eli and the Thirteenth Confession now from a quad reel I think. Damn it sounds great! Doubt the SACD will sound that much better when I eventually get it.

Good call..! :upthumb
With you all the way, why would anyone into Surround rather hear the Stereo of something that has a Quad option unless it's a poorer Quad mix than the Stereo presentation I guess.. which did happen a few times! :D
If you're ever curious to hear how a Q8 compares to an SQ conversion let me know and I can arrange it for you.

"It's a sagebrush serenade.. sagebrush serenade..
YEE-HAAA..!!"

Really? Now that's really interesting…
Next time you play "Please Don't Touch", would you mind posting a picture of that disc's menu screen? I would love to see how different it is compared to the one in the box set. Thanks! :)

In the meantime, listening to the "Trespass" Multichannel SACD from Genesis before heading off to work! :)

Bob Dylan Blood on the Tracks SACD: first time I've heard this and I like it, the range is fantastic, comforting low end on up to BD's nasally highs and harmonica. Country folk works for me, who knew?

If you like this one (it is quite lovely), I find that an excellent companion for it are the Ronnie Lane songs on the Rough Mix DualDisc. Perfect match! :)

Rough Mix has aged nicely! I listened to it recently, with a pint of cold dark Guinness stout, and a joint of sweet California grass. That rough mix went down beautifully!!!

I'm playing it right now (sans your extra nutritional additives) and it's really very nice.

So you finally got your Rough Mix Simon? I'm glad you like it, it's a personal favorite.

I've received a few of my recent orders today so I'm swimming in new music. :)

This is basically a 3.0 recording to which ambience was added in the rears but I'll admit that I find the engineers have done a nice job of it. The sound is sublime. This was only released in Japan but it is worth the extra coin.

Leonard Bernstein / New York Philharmonic - Mahler: Symphony No. 1 "Titan" (SACD)

I had never heard Hanson's music before and I really like these pieces. The 3.0 recording is superb. I wish Mercury had released more Hanson SACDs. I did manage to pick up a few of his albums on CDs.

Howard Hanson/Eastman-Rochester Orchestra/Eastman School Of Music Chorus ‎– Hanson Conducts Hanson (SACD)

Native Sons - Loggins & Messina (Quad)

Please AF, give this your 5-star Surround SACD makeover treatment..?

(Gorgeous album, made even better by a stellar Quad mix, imho..)

:worthy

It took me some time to receive this one but it was well worth it. Another lovely Quad from 1975 (choir in the rears) and a superb mastering from Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab. The performance is also remarkable.

Stanislaw Skrowaczewski / Minnesota Orchestra - Ravel: Works for Orchestra (SACD)

It got great reviews back at the time of release, and I wanted it but it took me years to finally get the vinyl. And then last year I got the DD issue used at SH forums.

The surround mix gets weak ratings yet I find it really nicely done. Both artists are in their prime here.
