Picture suck (most dvd's are better), surround and fidelty suck, only some songs come out good. But the lovely lady that Klaus sings duet with on "Here in My Heart" saves the hole thing

Gonna reconnect my cassette player and give some of these SQ encoded tapes a listen to.

I had lots of fun encoding in SQ and RM from CD-4 and some Q8 sources, and it's been quite some time (late 80's, early 90's) since I've played and encoded these must have quads.

While I'm on a nostalgia kick, think I'll get into some Folk.

First up 2012 cd/dvd tribute to Woody Guthrie DD 5.1.Then on to some early Bob Dylan-Bringing It All Back Home SACD.

Caravan In the Land of Grey and Pink audio DVD: needed to hear this again, nice SW 5.1 mix. Not high res but still sounds quite good and is a rewarding listen. Don't leave your dad in the rain. I've been spinning a lot of 4.0's lately and find the center vocals on this to be a nice interesting change.

Ryan Adams Gold DVD Audio: Now this is funny because I got this fairly recently and wasn't real impressed but wasn't sure why and put it away after one listen at home. Looking for a change for the drive in to work this morning I picked this one and thought, is this the same disc, I like this. So I'm now listening again at home and just noticed that the OPPO say's it's a 4.0 MLP (96k 24b), sounds great, nothing from the center and after all the fiddling around with the recent 4.0 discs especially Quadio I realize why it didn't do it for me before. Happy!

Got bass management?

First play of "Rejoice! I'm Dead!" from Gong (on 5.1 surround DVD-A/V)
This is definitely a very discrete and adventurous mix thus far! :)

Thanks to Adam, I'm presently enjoying Les Baxter's classic Que Mango album with the 101 Strings. The Quad LP was re-titled but that doesn't change the fact that it sounds sublime (if you like groovy Exotica). Here the LP Quad LP sleeve and the lovelier original Stereo cover.

Revisiting Roger Waters Amused to death, bluray. A big record that got even bigger in 5.1!
