I just hope you like it :couch but I'm pretty shure you will.

It just arrived in the mail today and guess what!?

I LOVE IT! The correct Mch SACD version came. Phew! I am relieved. In fact, the back cover says "2006". I don't know why amazon had 2 different versions listed.
Fun electronic music and a great surround mix.

Many thanks for the tip, Jan! :brew

This is an incredible recording of 2 awesome pieces of music by one of Argentina's most important composers... Alberto Ginastera. The nearest equivalent to this music that comes to mind is Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring"...very aggressive, organic music for full orchestra. Bartok's influence can also be felt. But, the music is completely original with an intoxicating South American fragrance.

For several years now, the NEOS label has been releasing an excellent series of modern classical music on Mch SACDs. Many, but not all, of their recordings offer wonderful, immersive sound. Fortunately, this is one of those immersive recordings. The work entitled "Popol Vuh - The Creation of the Mayan World" is a powerful orchestral work. The Cantata para América Mágica is for percussion orchestra and female soprano. It's a bit more atmospheric and abstract, especially the singing style, but is equally impressive.

An old favorite given a facelift.

Gregorio Allegri's Miserere has an especially wonderful discrete use of the rear channels. The other pieces are given a more ambient surround mix, but the natural dome effect of the voices rising up and filling the room makes this recording even more radiantly beautiful.

"Come with me my love
And seize the day
And live it
Live it slowly live it fast.
Never thinking once
About tomorrow
Till tommorrow's come and gone
And passed.
We'll pour the wine
And fill the cup of joy
And drink it
Drink as if it were the last.
Live... Just live for life.

In Paris today
In Amsterdam tomorrow
Sixty minutes through the skies
Fly with me to see
The setting summer sun
And stay with me to see it rise.
We'll say to those
Who say to live this way
Is mad... Then mad we'd rather be
Than wise.
Live... Just live for life.

If you let me I will lead you
To the mystery and wonder
Of a world you've never known before.
Dare the dangers to be dared
Magic places to explore
Share the places to be shared
Life is all of this and more
This and more.

Yesterday's a memory
Gone for good forever
And tomorrow is a guess.
What is real is what is
Here and now
And here and now is all that we possess
So take my hand
And life will live for you
If only just a moment's happiness.
Live... Just live for life
Live... Just live for life"
