Cousin Dupree; one of the best SD Surround songs; great imaging, fidelity, & dynamic range
a 9&1/2, because nothing's perfect!(y)

Received today my copy of Interstellar Blu-ray, deluxe edition. I bought it with the hope that it will contain the 5.1 soundtrack as part of the many extras but, sadly, it was only a hope...
There's a piece of documentary on the music creation that I still must watch.
It's really a pity as the soundtrack in DTS Master HD at 48k is really outstanding

Continuing on the Steely Dan Theme...another one I don't play that much...EVERYTHING MUST GO DVD-A..

Same as me, for any other band but Steely Dan it would be a really good album but they've done so much better! Countdown to Ecstasy & Katy Lied are brilliant IMHO, I've over played Pretzel Logic. Oh to have them all in Quad/5.1 :party

Yep...I agree...but look above...Quad Linda lives up to her name with her quad version of Countdown...you know...even though Aja is not in surround...I still love the content of it more than any other SD/Fagen disc...I always will..those songs are just magical for me...after all these years they have never lost their appeal..no matter how much I hear them...

I'm surprised that we haven't had any posts about the new version of Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet...it's been in the wild now for 2 days...I have the dual disc and I'm curious if it's worth getting the new one...

hi people, I just got the new Blood, Sweat & Tears there secomd one with Spinning Wheel in the 4.0 quad mix from best buy, sounds great, so what I did and if some of you would like to try this please do.

I played the original album thru my Yamaha RXV 577 surround sound receiver in the dolby pro logic II x music setting and the original album sounds like the same mix as the SQ quad and the 4.0 from Audio Fidelity web site.

so the regular 2 channel album has the encoded SQ matrix sound. so if any of you can't afford the 30.00 dollars. again, play the original album it says 360 sound on the columbia stereo cover like those old Johnny cash album. you will get the 4.0 quad

mix.and another one is there is one song on the bs&t called God Bless the Child on the 2 channel stereo you hear the trombone out of the left back as well on the one from the audio fidelity version.

Edgar winter they only come out at night, play frankenstein thru dolby prologic IIx music and you will hear the 4.0 quad mix in quad.

take care

Hi huggy, thanks for your info :)

Which version of They Only Come Out At Night do you have please?

I have 2 different CDs (not exact clones but so similar they might as well be, imho) and the MFSL Stereo SACD.. and none of them pan out in Pro Logic II at all on my gear.

Fredible the version I have of They only come out at night is the old vinyl on the yellow epic, from 1972.so again you mention dolby proloic II on my yamaha surround sound the 577 on the settings I have mine set for dolby pro logic IIx music make sure you set it at that

setting and listen to it in the straight mode when listening to dolby pro logic II music setting. my yamaha is a newer reciever from a few months ago.and plus I have an Audio Techinca AT 440MLA with the new micro line stylus, which is like the old shabata one. I do have as well

that version on the origianl audio CD which does not separate and MFSL stereo does not as well. so if your reciever has the dolby pro logic IIx music setting it will, at least on my yamaha it does. let me know if that works for you.

take care

huggy
