Love and Rockets - Seventh Dream Of Teenage Heaven [LPCM 5.1 96/24]

I fall into the camp of "never heard it, don't know the band"

Ironic that they do a cover of Lucifer Sam, because after listening to over half of the songs, I decided the singer reminds me of Sid Barrett. And, that's AWESOME!! I am thoroughly enjoying this music and the mix. Very nice work.

I won't bother voting until I fully absorb this thing. (y)

I'm also in this camp... listened to the youtube clips and initially decided to only preorder "Doolittle"... then I read the first QQ review of Love and Rockets this morning, and pre-ordered the damn thing too! (Also preordered "Blackfield V" this morning!)

Question: "How much more metal could this album be?"
Answer: "None. None more metal."

Best metal album ever!

Could be.... :)

I remember when I came home from a local record shop carrying a totally unknown album (EP) called "Kill 'em All" and pretty much it changed me in terms of what I would listen to for much of the early to mid/late 80's. I absolutely could not get ANY of my friends to listen to this album, yet I loved it and at least for me...I find it one of the most influential metal albums of all time. Obviously others sold way, way more, but I felt like it literally knocked down the door to the genre.

Agreed! That was a gamechanger. And there was this Slayer album "Show no Mercy" I think it was called? :)

Pixies - Doolittle

Geez - again, never heard this, nor any of their music. This one will be a tough one for me. There is a lot of stuff going on, in terms of who they remind me of....or maybe they were the trend setters? I need to research. I hear a lot of Lou Reed in the vocal delivery. I hear some Nirvana in the drone, sludgey stuff....then when they get to the meat of most songs, yeah, punk.....

I'm not a fan of punk...and I suppose this one will be hard for me to digest...so far, I love the bits and pieces of the songs, but when they wind up the crunchy guitar - well, it's a bit much screechiness for my ears. :) That's just me though. It's a good one. I may not vote...period... as I probably might not be able to appreciate this specific album as much as others.

The Collection. Quad SACD

Lots of unique tracks for your listening enjoyment. Has of course Dylan's hit single "Lay Lady Lay "from Nashville Skyline.

I'm hoping A.F. do up another one of these compilation QUAD SACD'S .Maybe one with more BMG/RCA QUAD or.......one of all quad Warner, Electra, Atlantic selections.:smokin

I dig the Miles Davis cum Mahavishnu Orchestra track---pretty cool inndeed.:upthumb

I would love that too, but given the trajectory since the release of "Secret Treaties", things are not looking up for more Quadraphonic SACD releases from AF anytime soon…
Instead, maybe Dutton Vocalion can jump in and release a Quadraphonic compilation themselves!

:)

I think R.I.P is very accessible. Great songwriting and sublime musicianship.

Just received my upgrade DVDV of Magentas Metamorphosis, had the stereo version for years :), but only just realised it was out in surround, so I had to have it, I've had a listen, it's very nice indeed :music.
Now I'm on to Sabbath Paranoid deluxe, I think I'll have another listen to Doolittle after that then Monsuun flacs I just downloaded (turned out when I got the Wavs there was only one tune in the folder).@:
