Just a word of warning.

I am off work from today through Jan 2! Whose idea was it to close down the office, and pay everyone as if they are there? Oh, that was me....the best boss in the world.

Once my wifey leaves at 3PM today, I will be frequenting this thread with all my MULTI-CHANNEL listening, in all it's glory!

This is on hot rotation here. When a (god-like) voice speaks in latin at the beginning of the first track - coming from the ceiling - it's so cool - gets me everytime.

REO Speedwagon - This Time We Mean It

:smokin

Someone told me today that REO opens for Metallica, I laughed and told him he was crazy. I was wearing my Metallica tie dye from 1994 tour. I just did a google search and I still think he is crazy. I will see him again tomorrow on the disc golf course. I have to remember to mess with him. :)

Its not often I quote George Michael.. but "Listen without prejudice", my friend (trust me, this album in Quad kicks total A$$.. and then some) the SQ record decodes like a virtual Q8 but mercifully it sounds like an LP.. still, I'm hoping that Dutton Vocalion get their rock thing on and deliver the SACD goods cos this one really is (and this time I mean it :D ) worth it :upthumb

The one old school quad REO conversion I have is excellent. I don't doubt for a second your conversion is excellent and their older albums are great. You missed my point which is no big deal, it was one of those "you had to be there" moments.

oh right, my bad
I definitely wasn't there in 94, I was mostly skipping private study and down the pub at that point

Edit: I should add I had absolutely zero idea who some of these bands were (Poco? hello?) until I got into this hobby.. REO Speedwagon amounted to middle aged hoofers with poodle perms doing mostly dreary middle of the road ballads afaiwc.. discovering altogether and/or rediscovering/discovering other sides to these 70s bands has been a part of the entire Quad thrill for me, it just so happily coincides that Quads heyday in the 70s is a prime chunk of my favourite period in the history of recorded popular music :)

Nothing like being nearly 25 years younger and 10 different pits to rage in. Thirty five thousand people going completely ballistic! Best moshing show ever. Ministry was a close second...

sounds amazeballs! i'm right there metaphorically moshing with you! :party

its funny cos I know we're all of differing age brackets and so on on here but when I hit this site I know I'm in for a good time and there will be a meeting of minds no matter what, we all have a love of music in common and that transcends all the bars and boundaries going, including age, time, place, background, demographic, height, girth and circumference.. all that kershizzle, love it.

Quaddies all over the world... join hands.. start a love train, love train!

listening to now in Surround..
(more splendid old bollocks I'd never heard of in a month of ice cream sundaes til i got into Quad)
