Soundgarden Badmotorfinger I have the Superunknown box too and like it a lot but the sound and mix is better on this one.:music DSC_0483.jpg

So... I was listening to Chicago VII for basically the first time from the QUADIO box (I'm going chronologically too!! Great way to discover a band---especially this one)...ever..except for the "singles"---and I'm thinking...
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? WHERE DID IT COME FROM---LEFT FIELD??? "

Dang..
This was a band who had worked out their kinks in the studio, had the mighty Terry Kath giving everybody their money's worth of what real playing guitar is...

and..

ehem..

Excuse me...

YES!!!

I would have thought that. I have been a serious Chicago fan since CTA. Saw them live a few times in the 70s. Chicago V is my third favorite all time LP behind Strange Beautiful Music and Caravanserai.;)

Somebody phoned me last week and strongly recommend this boxset to me. I was like... I don't like this band a lot, I've spent enough in music this year already, blah blah blah...
And this guy said: just take it as an investment for the future.
Well, it seems his message went straight down and deep into my brains and I ended up checking Amazon. And when I saw this little box for less than 70€ I couldn't resist. I'm weak...
Late Tuesday I hope I'll be reporting my impressions about Chicago in Quad!

Between Christmas cheer and revelry, I've been playing the latest Christmas gift to myself, 12 Dutton Vocalion SACDs (11 QUAD, one Stereo) and right now I'm spinning the magnificent [and wildly discrete] Andre Kostelanetz Music From Spain and Music of Villa~Lobos which has really smitten me in a BIG way.

A wonderful respite from the classic rock and jazz and the tons of BD~Vs I've been spinning for the last month or so.

Music hath charms to soothe the savage beast.........and right now, I'm as tame as a .....pussycat!:kitty:
