YOUNG AMERICANS...Tough listen on his anniversary of both life and death. He rules!

Michael Brecker - Pilgrimage

My first listen. Very nice traditional jazz with a hint of fusion. Great sounding recording but unfortunately very little information in the surrounds.

Brecker Brothers - Some Skunk Funk

Great sound quality and surprisingly good use of surrounds for a live recording. Awesome 'funk/jazz/rock with lots of punchy horns' music!

I've never listened to much Poco, but I know a few noteworthy musicians moved through the ranks there. Just looked 'Seven' up on wiki and supposedly comedian Phil Hartman made the album cover artwork!?

Phil Hartman.. that's some Crazy Eyes'd horseshoeshit! :D

I've seen a few detractors bleating on about Seven that its not really Poco blah blah blah.. to wit I say "wot-evurrrr".. Seven is a stunner imho and the Quad mix is superb (easily one of the best decoding Sony SQ discs I've heard, if it wasn't for the FTB vocal bleed - which to be fair is only really discernible when you go up unnaturally close to one of the rear speakers - you'd really think it was discrete its fab) oh and Poco's Cantamos Quad is just as good if not better, real demo worthy surround sound!

If any label had the ability & the inclination to get some of the old Quad masters out now (before its too late baby its too late) they should definitely prioritise things like the Poco's, the Reo Speedwagon's, the Edgar Winter's, Johnny Winter's & Rick Derringer's, there are some seriously good mixes in that lot! :D

Hasn't been very long since last time but, Rush - 2112 :smokin

Probably my favorite band of all time, but I think they look hilarious in their kimonos!

Alex looks like 'yeah, that's right!' - Neil looks like 'alright, if I have to' - Geddy looks like 'WHY!!??'

What??? Did you see my post about this? I purchased the same, but no clue how to get the music... Adam??? You got some info for a brother? :)

Hey GOS. Not sure if you heard from Adam. You should have received an email link from Ben in your email. Unfortunately I clicked the link I received yesterday and it says the link has expired. One day? Yikes. Hope to hear back from Ben tomorrow. Oops. Thought you had bought the disc.

oh sorry Gene I did not, where did you purchase yours?

I got the 2 disc set w/DTS CD off bandcamp last year and Ben Craven emailed today with a free FLAC upgrade when I finally got around to it tonight the 1st URL didn't work so I just got back in touch with Ben Craven and the kind gentleman sorted it right away with a fully functioning download link which came down nice and nippy!

(love the vibe, sounds fab and some wonderful surround stuff going on.. I'll be playing this a lot.. its "only" 16/48 which may get bitrate fascists tearing at their tendrils potentially.. but sounds pretty nice to me so screw all that number crunching for a while, put down the calculator and crank up your system.. shoobeedoobeedoobeedoobeewaaaaaa..!!! :p )
