Paul McCartney "Band On The Run" DTS CD- With some tweaking, most of these songs have really good surround mixes ("Jet" is the only one I can't seem to help). Wish I could say the same for the "Venus and Mars" DTS CD... there's just no helping that one!

How is the surround mix on this one?
This is a must for any collection. i purchased about 3 years ago and it brought tears to my eyes wathcing all the muscians and the songs. It is as good a surround disc as any. Beautiful, an absolute must have. In fact I might even go as far to say if you are not a Zep fan but wanted to have one disc to represent (Page and Plant only), this might be it.

Ok.. time to head to Amazon... thanks!

Paul McCartney- "The McCartney Years" DVD... along with "Queen's Greatest Video Hits", this had got to be the best collection of amazing surround mixes on video! (There's also a handful of great surround mixes on the "Lennon Legend" DVD)

The Moody Blues - Days Of Future Passed- Comparing the DTS-CD and SACD mixes this morning... basically the same elements are in the rears in both mixes, but the DTS mix has the rear channels much louder... to me, the DTS mix is preferable (but I'm sure you could get a similar sound if you rip the SACD and raise the rear levels a bit). Either way, love me some Moodies!

Listening to my random surround playlist for a bit:

311- "Beautiful Disaster"
Opeth "The Drapery Falls" (Blackwater Park DVD)- THE BEST Opeth album!!
Eagles - "Wasted Time" (Hotel California DVD-A)
Lynyrd Skynyrd "All I Can do Is Write About It" (Southern Surroundings DVD-A)
Henry Mancini "Return of the Pink Panther" (The Return Of The Pink Panther QR)- we need a high rez version of this!
The Flaming Lips "March Of The Rotten Vegetables" (Zaireeka Quad CD)- worth the work of putting it together if you like the Lips!
Bob Marley "One Love/People Get Ready" (Legend BD-A)
Paul McCartney "With A Little Luck" (The McCartney Years DVD)
Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here - Side One" (Wish You Were Here BD-A Quad)
Fleetwood Mac "Miranda" (Say You Will DVD-A)
Gentle Giant "River" (Octopus BD-A)
Jeff Beck Group "Situation" (Rough And Ready SACD)
Foo Fighters "Halo" (One By One DVD-A)
Pink Floyd "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast" (Atom Heart Mother BD-A Quad)

I think it's one of Rob Reeds projects.

It is, a nice bit of Rock, Kiama - Sign of Four CD

ROBERT REED (Magenta/Kompendium) Bass & keyboards LUKE MACHIN (The Tangent/Maschine) Guitar
ANDY EDWARDS (Frost*/IQ) Drums DYLAN THOMPSON (The Reasoning/Shadow Of The Sun) Vocals

But it was a limited edition CD & 5.1 DVD, and the Kiama section on http://www.magentashopfront.com/page6.htm only has CDs.

Listening now, to the very well done and truly discrete, 5.1 (all surround working) Super Session released by Audio Fidelity. Anything with Micheal Bloomfield is great, but this disc is extra great.

TRULY agree, Mark. This particular album [along with the superb BS&T Child Is Father To The Man] were two albums I always dreamed would be re~released in QUAD. On my system, both sound exceptional. Yeah, we could nitpick with some of Audio Fidelity's choices, but hell, they gave us 30+ QUAD/5.1 SACDs.

Really wish they'd release [albeit, in Stereo] The Live Adventures of Mike Bloomfield & Al Cooper on SACD! https://www.amazon.com/Live-Adventures-Mike-Bloomfield-Kooper/dp/B000002AAN
