One of my best friends in high school (almost 30 years ago) had a car stereo system that he entered in local 'Crank It Up' competitions with, and one of his 'show off tracks' was the very beginning of 'Welcome to the Machine'. Some of the deep bass on that track is amazing.

During that deep bass tonight my dogs were running all around the house trying to figure out what the hell it was!

Absolutely awesome disc. It would be great if it could get the bluray treatment someday!

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers-Hypnotic Eye Blu-Ray

For a band that's been at it so long , it's a surprisingly great album. Oh and the 5.1 is super-duper as well.

I like it as much as his classic stuff. And I'm not burned-out on the tunes, due to classic rock radio saturation.

Now, if I could only find Mojo at a decent price...

Misplaced Childhood - Trying my best to warm up to this. :)
Hey GOS, I just added that one to my possible buy list after hearing an online sample, after a first listen it's working for me. I haven't been following the new surround releases lately due to other interests but I was wondering, what releases in the last six months really worked for you? I'm feeling the need to expand my collection and support the cause.

OH my, what a dangerous question...last 6 months? Wow! Something tells me I've purchased a bunch in the last 6 months. I'd have to ponder that one...

I was only thinking of the one or two that made a big impression, ones that really stood out. Didn't realize I made it sound so open ended bro.

I finally "get" Misplaced Childhood. I used to actively dislike it, but I've warmed to it after listening in MCH.

I've noticed a few people who did not like Pink Floyd's The Division Bell liked it much more after hearing in surround. This is a similar reappraisal.

I'm also seeing the reasons why people compared them to the Gabriel-era Genesis. There's definitely some similar flourishes.
