Still in shock we're really getting an SACD of this amazing album!

Never had those 2 Poco quads back in the day , can you ( or anyone for that matter) , enlighten me as to the music
and the quad mix ?
I blame "Deliverin " which I had( in quad ) and really did not enjoy......so any other quad Poco I just passed on.

Gave this favourite Dylan disc a spin---disc #2.

Bob Dylan - Blonde On Blonde SACD

Some great folk/rock on this set. Recommend "Just Like A Woman ".

I have the SQ LP of Deliverin' and yeah, it's a total mess sonically and quad-wise. I assume this probably had something to do with it being a live recording.

I haven't heard Cantamos, but Seven is an excellent album with an amazing quad mix. The music is sort of reminiscent of the early Eagles LPs or Buffalo Springfield...some really nice vocal harmonies.

The quad mix: varies per tune, but usually drums and bass upfront (tho there is this really cool drum solo in the first track where the drums are spread over all 4 channels), isolated rhythm guitars in each rear channel, isolated harmony vocals, etc.

Definitely worth checking out :)

well I'm surprised you missed my Poco Quad raving/ramblings, Fizzy! ;)
I've been going on about Seven & Cantamos on here for the last couple of years. to me, they're both superb examples of Country Rock Quad and the surround mixes are top of the line. I expressed my disappointment on QQ at the result of decoding the Deliverin' SQ LP, to me it wasn't a patch on the Crazy Eyes DTS CD, or the Seven & Cantamos SQ LPs, mixwise or in terms of sound quality.. a tall order though perhaps, since all 3 of those are excellent!

Thanks Frederick's of London wood.

I am familiar with your raves as per Cantamos , but not Seven....so I apologize if I missed that review .
But that's partly due to my negative impression of Deliverin , not totally but if it said Poco I might not pay much attention.
Had that quad Deliverin early on and as far as all things quad that disc is the one and only turn off I encountered---and as a big quad collector back when..I was satisfied with dumping that disc very early on . May have been the very first quad title I tossed away with no regrets .

it would've been a crying shame if they'd only ever done Deliverin' in Quad.. however, unlike you who bought the Deliverin' SQ and it put you off getting the other Poco's, i came ass-backward to this hobby and got Crazy Eyes DTS first and was impressed! had the Deliverin' SQ been my first exposure to Poco in Quad, as it was yours, FW, I would've quite possibly abandoned them too! highest recommendation without reservation for Seven & Cantamos, they RAWK..!! :rocks
