Mrs GOS is still in bed :censored:

But to her defense...we were in "The City" all day helping my son move from inner Chicago to Wheaton, suburb. He bought his first house.....we're exhausted today. lol

So, no music for a couple more hours....then the Bears play at 3PM Central..oh boy.
GOS, we're getting to old to do moves anymore, my man! Helped my brother move from a 2nd floor apartment to a 3rd floor apartment in the same complex a year ago and it almost killed me! No more moves for this guy!

Listening to The Best Of The Doors on Blu-ray 4.0 right now. Riders on the Storm is pure aural bliss!!!

Big Bears fan here also. Hate that we drew the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles in the first round, but I think we will survive and play again next weekend! GO BEARS!!!

Fully into this band after this sites recs.
Just waiting for the replacement disc on this one, that I got for Xmas.

I have the previous 2 as well.
They are all top drawer and can only repeat what others have said...just get them while you can. They are all brilliant ..imo.

The Happy Sound Of Ray Conniff

the easy listening Quad cavalcade roars on! this is much more active a mix than i remember the SQ panning out to be (i know, i know "it's SQ".. but sometimes it can give a really good impression of how the discrete's gonna play out but not so much on this one).. some really fun panning and positioning here on track 3 ("Don't be that way") all channels used creatively to great effect on all the different vocal parts popping up hither and thither!

DV goes Country (and so do i..!)

just getting into the Ronnie Milsap 2-fer, not only have i never heard either of these Quads before, I've never heard any of his music before and didn't know about him as an artist at all until I started seeing his Quads online but the discs were hard to find over here on the cheap so i never got them.. not so now! i can forget hunting down CD-4's and having to clean them up and hope they demodulate ok, here we have both his Quads in master tape quality on one disc for less than the shipping on one Quad LP from the States.. result or what!! YEE HAAA!!! :LB

edit: oops, i got carried away there, what about the music and the sound and the mix! i hear 3 of you cry! :ROFLMAO:
well i'm halfway thru and really its pretty cool, sound quality is delightful, i like his voice and the songs and arrangements are very pleasant, the mix is nice and immersive without being flashy.

Seems like are no duffers Fred..👌

yes indeedy! so far, so good! (y)
obviously my natural tastes dictate i'd rather this batch comprised of Harold Melvin, The O'Jays, MFSB, REO Speedwagon, Dave Mason, Fredgar Winter.. all that Soul/Rock & Pop stuff... but.. it's good to mix it up and get outta me comfort zone.. and the surround sounds been so good on all this lot so far i haven't thought about gettin' down to the Philly Sound for ooh at least the last 6 hours!

well i never...!!! you know i said the mix wasn't flashy? haha.. check out "Country Cookin'" on the 2nd album, a bit of piano here "tinkle tinkle!", here come the drums, over there "boom boom!".. and time for a bit of fiddle in the Rear..!! they must've had a blast mixing just that track, its a Milsap original and its his 2nd Quad (single inventory LP too I think?), i'd lay money on him writing the song specifically for Quad, its brilliant!! :rocks

take three tablespoons of guitar
and two pounds of drums..
and an acre of fiddles..!!!

YUM YUM GIMME SOME O'THAT GOOD OL' HOMESPUN COUNTRY COOKIN'..!!!

(ok, the disc ended and i just had to play track 15 - again.. what a fckin HOOT!!! you're all gonna love this one!!! :dance

Maybe so, Ronnie, being blind, probably had a super sensitive ear. :hi

ohhh... that's why he's got sunglasses on in the pics! i thought he was just going for a cool look!! (seriously) whoops!! :phones
he's got a great voice, i can't believe I'd never heard of him before but then there's lots of good stuff from the Quad days we never got over here! shame Ronnie M only did two Quads but then RCA didn't do many after '75 so its probably just fate and if he'd been on Columbia we'd have got em all in Quad for another couple of years like Mac Davis!

hey that gets me thinking, i hope DV do some Mac Davis soon, I remember some of those Quad records and tapes of his being fun!

Vanishing Point is my favorite song on that disc...it's an album that because of the surround sound...I like it as much as Silk Degrees...and that wasn't always the case...over time Vanishing Point has become my Lido Shuffle and King of El Paso has become Lowdown...and then fredblue's Miss Riddle gives it some spice:rocks

"I Just Go " is my fave on Boz'z Dig .
Kinda a film noir type a blues tune , with killer guitar , and super low vocals.

listening now.. i'm going dotty for Dottie West doing Last Time I Saw Him!! last time i heard it in Quad was Diana Ross..

"i'm comin' honey!
come rain or shine!"

great sound quality and mixes so far and sweet jesus she don't half belt those blummin' songs out!!! fuuuuuck... you go girl!!! :ROFLMAO:
LOL! Yeah, she's another great one in terms of vocals. Good stuff...

FWIW though,

That is the first edition ABC/Dunhill U.S. album , and does pan out kinda nice .
Controversial album by Joe me thinks .

That guy across the pond , well I don't know his sources. Far too many allegations on this one and a handful of others.

Confused yet ?
