WOW...that is an AMAZING list of artists...that's bucket list stuff for me:D

A couple of them suffer from the syndrome of "let's mix the flop album after their biggest hit in quad", but it turns out some of those "flop" albums are actually very good. The Wild Cherry and B.T. Express quads in particular are real gems I've gotten to know recently. No hits, but some funky tracks and great quad.

I've been slowly revisiting my SQ collection since I got my Tate decoder a few weeks back, and I have to say the soul stuff has been the highlight. The PIR releases in particular decode incredibly well and sound great (some CBS SQ pressings sound like crap, but not these). The opening sound effects of "Ship Ahoy" are so eerie and lifelike.

Is that the monster release Mike?
Presume another fine release from them monster boys?

Its ok, just realised it's the recent Blu ray release:rolleyes::)
Live Bernin' was, wasn't it?
This one is Dig It Records, Galaxy Studios.
Mixed to emulate the orchestra performer layout and aural space of the hall.
So cool!

Wow, had no clue so much good classic soul had received the quad treatment! Hopefully at least some of it will receive hi res treatment sooner rather than later!

oh yes! its quite remarkable how much more Soul there was in Quad than Rock! some of the mixes are 'better' than others and i haven't heard all of the multiple Al Green Quads though i enjoyed those i have, plus its unclear exactly which Ohio Players albums were definitively mixed into Quad beyond "Fire" & "Honey" but there's potentially another 3 Quads of theirs in the vaults.. top & bottom of it, there's at least 50 great Quads from artists in that list that are all worthwhile imho.. maybe someday they'll all "see the light" like those recent Billy Paul treasures from Dutton Vocalion.. :D

Astrud Gilberto
Now

:censored:

I know ...don't shoot the piano player!!

She sang this:

This would be cool in surround...:)

I am a HUGE Astrud Gilberto fan. Too bad her only 'surround' [?] album is on Silverline in faux surround, at that.

I wish D~V would release her splendid outing with Stanley Turrentine on A&M/CTI [arranged by Deodato] since I know Verve, her label for years won't.

I've yet to pick up any DV Billy Paul. Might have to do something about that soon!

She certainly has a terrific voice Ralph!!
Justa shame they completely overshadowed it with this very muddy mix from a mono? release.
Them Silverline peeps certainly know how to take the wee wee sometimes.
Again a label is blighted by some dreadful releases where there are actually ones that are worth buying from them.

I wonder what D-V has lined up for February?
The last 10 were fantastic..imo (y)
