Well, then there is zero chance we'll see some old quad rerelease. Isn't UMG the only one that doesn't do that?Actually, their catalog moved from Sony to UMG in 2021.

just shooting from the hip here ---and wishing ---true mind blowing would be Led Zeppelin quadio box. Happy Friday all
Thanks for all the feedback on my question. I appreciate that.Well, then there is zero chance we'll see some old quad rerelease. Isn't UMG the only one that doesn't do that?
Dutton-Vocalion has released a few UMG-controlled quads on SACD, including Donald Byrd's Black Byrd and Street Lady.Well, then there is zero chance we'll see some old quad rerelease. Isn't UMG the only one that doesn't do that?
Not to mention more than a few Paul Mauriat titles [stereo & Multi~CH] and some GRP Jazz SACDs in stereo all UMG titles!Dutton-Vocalion has released a few UMG-controlled quads on SACD, including Donald Byrd's Black Byrd and Street Lady.
First of all, if there is a stand-alone Ziggy coming with an Atmos mix, I will cancel my order for the box!Someone on the Hoffman list wrote about an upcoming Ziggy Stardust blu-ray that has new Dolby Atmos and stereo remixes that are not part of the Rock And Roll Star set. Makes me wonder....a well done box of Mick Ronson era David Bowie in surround would be 'mind blowing'. The Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory, The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane and Pin Ups would make a great set.
Can you link where you found this? I can't seem to find it through some searches.Someone on the Hoffman list wrote about an upcoming Ziggy Stardust blu-ray that has new Dolby Atmos and stereo remixes that are not part of the Rock And Roll Star set.

Actually the Aerosmith catalog is now owned by UMG and is available on CapitolThe Aerosmith catalog is owned by Sony. So Rhino would not have access to those albums.
Best hope for Aerosmith would be one of those Japanese 7" SACD packages like the Santana titles.
As mentioned, someone on the Hoffmann list posted about it:

Confusing find on PPL today... Looks like an Atmos mix of Ziggy is coming, but also a new 2024 stereo mix? Which clearly isn't included in the big box set?

It would really be an F-U to the people who just bought the box set, but I’ll take what I can get.Maybe the Atmos mix will show up on streaming services when the box is released? And perhaps a Rhino blu-ray? Fingers crossed.
I'm stealing that!Quatmos
Can you have the Quatmos logo involve a duck somehow? (Because it kinda sounds like "Quack"!)I'm stealing that!
But the Quad versions are hardly Ho-Hum!(as an example I bought the Doobies set despite having all the albums on SACD. For me, after listening to the ho-hum sound in stereo, it was a waste of money).
Actually Aerosmith is now Universal's property. The Aerosmith catalog is owned by Sony. So Rhino would not have access to those albums.
Best hope for Aerosmith would be one of those Japanese 7" SACD packages like the Santana titles.
The most "Quatmos" mixes I have heard, are the two Glen Campbell's Atmos mixes. They have the quad feel, although they use more than four channels. They are really great and unique.I'm stealing that!
Again, it all comes down to what you consider mind blowing.David Gates would be GREAT!!
A Carly set would be “mind blowing” only for a very few of her most diehard fans. I hope FR didn’t waste such a tantalizing superlative on that. Especially since the possibility of such a set has been suggested many many times for years and years around here.My two cents....
It's probably Carly Simon. But, I hate to say it.... that wouldn't blow my mind.
The optimist in me is hoping for the Eagles. Maybe if Hell Freezes over.....
