I hate silly music.
MOST ESPECIALLY:Well, that kills off much of The White Album along with good bit of Abbey Road, not to mention a massive chunk of the McCartney solo catalogue. Well, all I can say is, Ob-la-di Ob-la-da.
All great. Especially da...Well, that kills off much of The White Album along with good bit of Abbey Road, not to mention a massive chunk of the McCartney solo catalogue. Well, all I can say is, Ob-la-di Ob-la-da.
Every decade has its myriad of novelty songs.
70's = Disco Duck
80's = Shaddap Yo Face
etc...
Oh no...those aren't silly songs. Silly love songs? maybe...lmaoWell, that kills off much of The White Album along with good bit of Abbey Road, not to mention a massive chunk of the McCartney solo catalogue. Well, all I can say is, Ob-la-di Ob-la-da.
Warner Bros did this joke better way back in 1951
One thing that happened in the 1940s-50s was the creation of the musician's union. It killed the big bands.
Jazz, IMO, has always been timeless and current jazz musicians had an amazing legacy to improvise from!There is one form of music that has IMO improved with time and that's Jazz.
See my post #30 ABOVE.I think the original post is 50 years off. 2000 in my opinion is the beginning of the slide.
Getting DUMBER? Because of a basic lack of common sense and the fact they didn't pay attention in school, they blame everyone else for their lack of success!I'm reading this while listening to "Home Invasion" by Steven Wilson. But then I'm a prog guy.
My opinion is that people are getting dumber. I'm ok with the music I like.
The bands could not afford to pay all of their musicians at union scale with the venue takes they usually got.That is interesting, indeed. Any reference? I'm just curious about how it happened.
(We know that video killed the radio star. Sorry...just could not help myself.)
That is a shame because the big bands and their music were really fantastic.The bands could not afford to pay all of their musicians at union scale with the venue takes they usually got.
My father played trombone in a local big band, "The Stardusters" in the 1940s. It disbanded when the musician's union demanded higher pay.
I guess we have to define silly. A lot of Hal David’s lyrics don’t make sense in their context, and googoogajoob isn’t all that intellectual.I hate silly music.
