“This Time of Night” immediately jumped to the top of my ‘Atmos Demos’ playlist.
What about floors fans?Heights fans are going to love The Perfect Kiss.
Floor fans are way overrated. I prefer window units myself. What about floors fans?
I think there's something for everyone in that mix but some very nice use of the heights. It would be a shame if these aren't released on disc. What about floors fans?
No, the kick sound and general low-end response seem pretty similar to me on both albums.Has anyone else noticed that the kick drum sound throughout the album is severely over-boosted in the mix?
I also hear it (just went down and listened to a few snippets to make sure). I just got my system back up after a couple weeks (the video side; the audio has been on and warmed up all this time), so haven't listened to anything new for a bit. That'll all change likely tonight. But I'll be bummed if that thud is on all of Low Life, as I now expect. Movement is our life preserver, for now.My thoughts on Low-Life and a related conspiracy theory: Has anyone else noticed that the kick drum sound throughout the album is severely over-boosted in the mix? Every kick sounds like a thud, as if my woofers are being tapped out- even at a reasonable volume. I’m not well-versed in sound engineering, so the technical term “thud” will have to do, but I do know enough to confirm it’s not my system at fault. The Atmos mix of Movement doesn’t exhibit this issue, and it’s Movement that is being featured on Apple Music’s Spatial Audio page, not Low-Life. I wonder if there’s a real issue with the mix on LL, and they’ve chosen to let it rest until it can be fixed.
Found it! Only like three days later. Buried, it was.Happy to report that both Movement and Low Life are on Tidal. And how utterly amazing is Senses!
Yet to find Blue Monday.
One man’s ceiling is another man’s floor. What about floors fans?
They are both great, you are definitely missing out.Verdict? For us physical only die-hards.
Not sure I expect the "Irish Mirror" to know the difference between Atmos mixes and 5.1 mixes. Roxy Music and all the Ultravox mixes up until the most recent (which came out after this article) are also just 5.1.https://www.irishmirror.ie/whats-on/arts-culture-news/new-orders-spatial-odyssey-inside-33725719
Simple Minds was mentioned in the list of Dolby Atmos mixes he's done. Would be nice if a definitive Atmos mix was done of Sparkle In The Rain but maybe they were just talking about the old 5.1 mix.
Yeah, kind of what I was thinking as well but still hoping for the best since Atmos revisits have been released lately. Not sure I expect the "Irish Mirror" to know the difference between Atmos mixes and 5.1 mixes. Jum Karrr & Sumple Moinds [how I heard a Scotsman pronounce them in a pub convo in Callander 30 yrs ago] aside:https://www.irishmirror.ie/whats-on/arts-culture-news/new-orders-spatial-odyssey-inside-33725719

I just noticed this! It’s only on my Apple tv though, on my iPad it’s all there. Odd, since one would assume it’s all pulling from the same server. I love Apple Music, but it’s a damn mess at times, especially their reluctance to properly identify Atmos music. There’s no rhyme or reason to the way multiple versions of certain albums are prioritized. For example, the featured album on the New Order artist page is Low-life. Is it the Atmos version? Of course not. Movement- it IS the Atmos version, but it’s labeled “Lossless”, not Atmos. Plus, you can play the Definitive version of both those albums and get Atmos versions of the core album tracks, despite again, being labeled Lossless. One of the Movement instances has a fancy newanimated album cover, but it’s an older mix of the album. Oh, and the lyrics are embarrassingly poorly transcribed. In some cases the timing is so far off that it’s several verses behind what’s playing. They’re so bad on both counts that I prefer to just turn them off.for some reason none of the 3 different versions of movement are playing in atmos on apple in the usa. low-life is still working.
