I got it to work just now. I guess I was just impatient. It usually doesn't take so long for the decryption part to finish. It took over 3 minutes, then it finally started rolling.

This is a beast of a mix, drums are amazing, what a low end! You'd better have full range rears.
I'm on first listen and I'm really impressed. Surprised also with some differences with the original mix that appear here and there. Only minor complaint so far is that maybe vocals sound a bit recessed (in PTDO,.for example).
The wait was worthy!

OMG the synths in Sheep. This has little to do with previous Guthrie's mixes

I got worried when I read "You'd better have full range Ears".
Caught it on second reading !
Full range ears do certainly help in this hobby!
Uhmmm, not liking what has been done with the psalm verses in Sheep, but here synths come again to save the day 
Made the mistake of ordering mine from PF's official site. Haven't gotten a ship notice yet; the order says the release date is today, so we will see.

Yes - the drums are what really stood out to me as the biggest sonic improvement in this mix. I don't think I've ever heard Nick Mason's toms sound so huge.
There are moments when they swirl around you, they sound astonishingly well. This is why I was mentioning the need for full range back speakers, they get some real use with this mix

Family caught me red handed listening to it very loud, right at the end of Sheep. Wife's comment: what are you doing listening to sheep bleating? And that was the end of the fun for today. Tomorrow I'm alooone at home! Sorry, neighbors!

I think DSOTM was a sacred cow with a difficult to improve stereo mix and an even better quad. The 5.1 was approached with too much respect to the stereo reference and with too much influence from the band members.
In this case, all members alive shared many times how displeased they were with the existing mix and fidelity and this may have given Guthrie more liberty. And, just guessing, I tend to believe that RW, DG and NM have meddled less with the mix. But God knows... what really matters is that it well may be the best JG surround mix to date.
If he's done the same to The Wall, we'll have to wait and see.
If there is, you'll likely have a good long time to savor the wait for it.Since they say "2018 Remix," I wonder if there is an Atmos version of this, and the others, in the works.
I will probably be way past caring any more.
Ok, now I get it: LFE = Low Frequency Ears
Please let JG do Atmos mixes all the classic PFs. Please.

My Amazon shipment says arrives Friday by 10pm. I guess it will be a late night. Not sure I'll be able to blast it unfortunately.
My biggest beef ( pun.... ) with the original mix was how lackluster the drums sounded, compared to other Pink Floyd releases of the era. Although it's still probably my favourite PF album.
Looking forward to hearing it anew!
