AS time moves on so does the available customers who have the the funds and or desire to buy such repackaged, remixed, regurgitated music products. The retirement fund for the record company and the band is fading away. If animals was ever to be release in 4.0 or mixed for release in 5.1 they better move pretty quick as the natural process is diminishing the available cash cow for them.

I'm sorry but I'll pass this and save money to buy more (cheaper) SW stuffs.

It is just heartbreaking that they bury what I want with what I don't need and charge more than I reasonably can afford.
Do they do it to us 5.1 fans on purpose? All it would take is one more package breakout like Acoustic Sounds got with WYWH.

It has been a great month for 5.1 releases but man the prices are killing me.

Unfortunately, I had to buy the boxes for the DSOTM and WYWH to get the surround mixes (I only really wanted the original quad versions). They were overly expensive and I will NEVER play or use anything else that is in the box. I will not be buying the Division Bell box just for the 5.1 mix this time unless they release a standalone disc.

Having lost my marbles, and that I've bought every album from Pink Floyd on the day it came out, from Wish You Were Here onwards, I've just ordered the Division Bell box set (mainly for the 5.1) from the pinkfloyd/warner website (I don't know why but I got a £10 discount) so approx. £96 inc. courier p&p, and its £148+ on amazon. Mad I may be, but no 5.1 no sale, so no The Wall box set! At least no marbles with this box set @:

I got the WYWH Immersion set for xmas when it came out. Why do I need marbles and a lame scarf? I wanted the Blu-ray! I might of not bought it had I known about the SACD which came out later. Fortunately the DSOTM SACD came out way before that immersion set.

If the record company suits are reading, "WE DON"T NEED MORE JUNK! JUST THE MUSIC!".

So it seems the cheapest entry to get 5.1 is £57! I really don't care about a t-shirt, nor coasters. I'm pleased there is a DVD option though, as I am loathe to invest £££ in a new player and amp for blu-ray. What might have been a better model is to have all the stuff available seperately on the site and offer discounts as you pass various price points. So, 10% at £50, 20% at £100, etc...

Looking at the website: http://euroshop.pinkfloyd.com/en/browse-by-album/division-bell-20th-anniversary.html

it seems that only the vinyl or the deluxe box are now available. Box at £99.99, but at that price for 5.1 I am out.

Thanks for the URL Mike. :)

I might commit a crime to get this kind of money for Animals or The Wall in 5.1. But certainly not either of the 2 Roger Water-less PF records. Though I do consider that Division Bell has 4 or 5 really strong songs that MLOR didn't.

My backside is still stinging from the high cost of the ELP - BSS box I bought with the lackluster 5.1 mix, so, I must join the people who sit on the sidelines for this one.

How much longer must we wait for The Wall in 5.1? The Wall was made for 5.1. (y) It will be a great day when we finally get the 5.1 mix.

Here it was:

Abstract of the article:
"During the Q&A portion, Guthrie confirmed he’d like to do more Pink Floyd 5.1 mixes, but that it often comes down to a matter of the time available on his and the band’s collective schedules, so “don’t hold your breath.” That said, he was willing to concede that The Wall seems to be the most likely next candidate in the 5.1 queue, but the album he’d be most interested to do in surround is Animals."

Sure, I'd rather have Animals, the Wall or Meddle in surround, but there is some great music on Division Bell and I'm gladly forking over the money for this. I'm really looking forward to the vinyl as well as the blu-ray.

If I had the opportunity, I'd be most interested in doing the Final Cut. So much depth and layers to that one.
