I have the 4 k version both discs get stuck in an endless intro loop on my sony upb800.
I did get a refund but still have the discs.

Recieved a mail from mercury last week.

There are new discs coming in different packaging.
because there is no way to tell which disc is allright and which isn' t without trying them.

But they can't say when this will be.

I will wait for the new ones.

hi; so basically all discs now on any major store have 1 disc faulty? are they replacing them or? thanks (i did not purhase my copy yet so i would like to avoid another disappointment)

Seems hit or miss who will get a bad disc, and which one it is. I guess all you can do is buy and get replacements for any bad ones. Or buy a used set that's known good.

thanks for the info; but is known if they do send replacements to any location -Italy for example?-?

No, not to Italy. Everywhere but Italy. Just kidding. Who knows? I mean I would think so.
There are links in the thread to contact. But it's mercury studios.

Finally getting around to my replacement discs (I figure if I waited so long for them I can wait a tad longer to get around to them). I viewed the main film on the “Full Frame/Open Matte” version on disc one and visually it’s a stunner. I heard reports that the IMAX release was DNR’d to hell, and yeah there’s no visible grain here but mercifully it avoids being a smeary mess like so many DNR’d discs.

Atmos wise… it’s a letdown with some exceptions. Expect a standard “concert film” mix here, very front heavy with audience in rears… except when they dim the lights, flood the stage with fog, or use delay effects… then the mix gets fun, voices bouncing in the rears, guitars wailing from all directions, etc. If they were this adventurous in the mixing for the whole thing this would be an easy recommend even with the headache of flagging down replacement discs. As it stands… eh.

Typing this while watching the Live Aid performance, and the same audio comments apply to this as well. Visually it’s a 1080p uprez from a tape, so… you get what you get here.

Edit: I was under the impressions that the Live Aid Rehearsals also had a surround mix, but sadly stereo only, and also it’s mostly an interview segment

I sent my email with pictures back in August to [email protected] with no response. Someone said in a previous post to call A24 which I did but they no nothing about this issue and said they no nothing about mercury records.
I would reach out again to Mercury Records. All others don't have a dog in this hunt. They shipped me the single disc I was having problems with, after a long wait. But that's been some time ago, maybe they missed you somehow. Be the squeaky wheel.

I will say that I initially emailed Mercury Studios, got no response after 3 weeks, and responded to my own email saying I was seeing people on blu ray dot com get replacements already and yet I hadn’t heard back from them, which prompted a response. They asked for every bit of info (again… I provided all of it in my first email which was clearly not read), and I got a response saying they’ll send me the discs and another email with tracking info.

I never got that email, but I did see a tracking number show up on my USPS Informed Delivery of which I was uncertain of the origin, and when it arrived it was a small cardboard mailer with both discs with my address and the return address… handwritten with sharpie. Which… seems odd for a big company to be handwriting it’s labels.

I eventually got results but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m giving them a wide berth for other releases from now on. From the shoddy non-functional product, poor communication on a replacement program, bad customer service, and now that I have it, not especially great surround… I’ll be giving future Mercury Studios releases a pass unless response to one is overwhelmingly positive
