But this is a new breakthrough for the series. Quad mixes performed in the 70’s and then filed away unissued. They are sleeping beauties, and now being awoken. Unfricken real.

Thats So were they from the last days of Quad mixes which then got shelved, or earlier and shelved for some other reason?

Likely commissioned during the heyday and cancelled as releases were being phased out.
Same as what we went through with DVD-A's - got a handful of those gathering dust.
