I'm elated I only ordered Roxy Music and not the bundle. I was so excited to see Roxy Music and I didn't even realize there was a bundle. Glad I didn't because I would have regretted it.
Same. I don't care for INXS at all. Too commercial for my taste.

I'd better hurry up and order Avalon. I can't remember when times up. I'm going to be in my home country soonish, so I plan to get them delivered to a friend's place, which will be way cheaper than Oz. But I need to hurry up and get that sorted.

I think it's 21st February 🤔

I clearly made a mistake that I won't repeat again, lesson learned.
I purchase the bundle together with Bryan Ferry's Blu-ray. 12 pounds total shipping costs for the three. So far, so good.
As I had no interest at all on INXS, I made the error of asking for the cancellation straight away. This meant Retrospective order was kept and the bundle cancelled, so I ended up paying another 12 pounds when I reordered Avalon.
Of course SDE support could not keep a single shipment as Retrospective was sold out..
Anyway, someone needs to feed Royal Mail, I guess.
Something seems to be out of whack on the postage when I cancelled my bundle and reordered just Avalon; the bundle cost £12 postage, and the order for Avalon alone also cost £12. (2 copies of Avalon also cost £12 postage.) I am in conversation with the shop to see if this is an error; it's as if the postage for the bundle was not adjusted when it was switched to just a single title.

(The shop's initial response was: "All our postage charges are based on weight and as Avalon is a bpok style DVD it is heavier that the usual blurays we sell in the plastic case hence the increase. Additionally ther was a discount on the bundle." This doesn't seem right, since the postage for the Thompson Twins, in similar packaging, was only £8.)

That’s the same story I got when I tried to order Bryan Ferry after additional copies became available. Shipping in my case would have been £11 (the overall purchase was so expensive I backed off).
They said they didn’t realize the cost would be higher until they started shipping Thompson Twins so any hard books after that point paid more.

Out of interest... Where are you based?
United States.

I see from threads like this that others have even more outrageous shipping costs to contend with; it would be nice if there was another shipping option, since other sellers (shipping UK to US) don't seem to have the same problem.

I find it curious the shipping for one copy is the same as for two copies (£12). How many items were in your order with the £11 shipping? Something still feels off...

When I tried to add something else (a couple of empty Pure Audio cases, in other words minimal weight) it shot up to £17 shipping. Seemed off as you say but I figured to hell with it, didn’t need any of it that bad so didn’t pursue it with SDE. Cleared my cart and walked away.

I'm in the UK so not as badly affected as people overseas but I can sympathise with you. As a seller myself, I have seen Royal Mail increase their prices time after time after time, whilst their service remains piss poor as ever.

The cost of this Avalon release was a no for me too. I'm not prepared to pay £35 for a bare bones release, regardless of how great the mix is, and the digibook or whatever its called is a bit irrelevant for me - it's the disc and content I'm more bothered about.

With regard to the same postage cost for 2 copies as it is for one, it could be because 1 copy would qualify as a Large Letter with Royal Mail but 2 copies would go into the Small Parcel bracket and the price for that, especially internationally, increases quite substantially in my experience, but it shouldn't equal 2 x £12. That's nuts. Maybe another £5-£6 at the most I would guess?

I think Paul may need to look into some alternatives with regards to shipping, especially overseas because in it's current form it's unsustainable.
