I received my copy yesterday from Amazon (surprised since it wasn't supposed to ship until the 31st). I have to confirm there's a problem. The rear channels are clear and the front channels sound "muffled". Really difficult to hear the vocals. I have no idea if Amazon (US) has even thought about a disc replacement program.

Merlin....tread the above last 2 pages of posts for the return program....good news

these comments @sa-cd.net proclaiming things are wrong with the 5.1 also is not doing my poor heart any good!! :yikes :(

..and then you've got someone over @ the SHF on their soapbox saying its the worst 5.1 they've ever heard.. :yikes ..I was tempted to ask them if they'd ever heard of Silverline.. but i don't fancy getting booted, plus there ain't many of us QQ lot left there now, we need to keep a hand in

Oh boy...you should know better than to take them seriously over there when it comes to surround.... worse than the Silverline Front Row discs...not in this lifetime...

I too received my copy early from Amazon US and sent an email (along with a PDF of my invoice) to the address listed in the above posts. I received a return message in a few hours indicating that "replacements will go out as soon as they are made". They did not seem to be fussed that I was from the United States and they were replying form the UK. I will give them props for giving me a personal response.

I will hopefully give the disc a test run tonight.

According to timbre4 you need to check your setup. He says the 5.1 mix is fine.

you mean DD 5.1 surround mix?

No. On the bottom of the box. I've attached a photo.

Amazon already refunded the charge and said they don't have any more discs. Never addressed the problem. Oh well, I guess I can start over once the corrected discs are on the market.

Damn! Now I wish I would have grabbed the BD off of Amazon. They are very good at giving refunds. Especially, to "Prime" members. :)

DTS-HD Master Audio on a DVD-Audio, I think not. Kind of like the recent Rick Wakeman that has DTX 96/24 on it.

Dolby Digital TrueHD would be more believable...

For what it's worth (I have the beginnings of a head cold and my hearing and balance are a bit messed up), I spun the surround mix last night and did notice that the vocals were a bit quiet on some tracks (reminded me of Assault and Battery on Steven Wilson's Hawkwind - Warrior on the Edge of Time DVD). I upped the centre channel 1dB though (fronts set to 0dB and centre set to +3dB) and that seemed to make it sound a bit more along the lines of what I expected.

The drums are very prominent from the fronts and it's quite the aural assault with a crisp high end that almost made me wince.

One thing I noticed was that the synth melody on Waterfront that you usually hum along to wasn't anywhere near as prominent as it is on the original mix.

Again, this could all be down to my head cold.

Given the messed-up 2014 stereo mix though, I think I'll try and wrangle a replacement BD from Universal and if that fails, return the dud to wowhd.co.nz.

Another muck-up on the insert is that it states:
DTS 5.1 MIX SURROUND MIX (it's DTS-MA 5.1)
HIGH RES STEREO MIX (there are 2 stereo mixes on the BD; the 2014 mono/stereo and the original stereo mix)
DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1 SURROUND MIX (nope; it's PCM 5.1)

... but then the correct audio/mixes are stated near the bottom in a box with logos and icons.

Weird.
