Someone Posted the DR Value for CD 1. Not looking too good. I still have not opened my box so I can check and will so this weekend. Unless, someone beats me to it.
I will have no time to listen until this weekend. I like to listen and look at everything at the same time. Plus, I want to listen to all three of my Simple Minds DVD-A mixes on the same day. Good things come to those who wait...patiently.
That's what SHE said....lmao

afaik CD1 is pretty much the old remastered (Simon Heyworth? 2003/4?) CD.. so if that one didn't float your boat..
And, here I assumed it was a new remaster. The sticker on the box does state 4 CD's newly re-mastered. So, it must have been tweaked differently somehow and in someway. Or, are they lying to us? :yikes LOL
Well Update from The Universal Guy that SNood was emailing..........see email copies above and also email addresses
Well here is the email address that me originally sent an mail to [email protected] , but they forwarded to the record guy named Steve - let me know if ya want Steve's addy - it's the guy's actual company email with his last name @ umusic.com....don't feel comfy putting it in public forums
So PM Snood if ya need it
Early this morning he sent email asking that Snood just send him My Name and address and he would get the Disc out to me as soon as they are ready. Wow
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice
Now just playing the waiting game :bounce
Hmmm.. Regarding the vocals, I must say that they (IMHO) do seem a bit "distant", more noticeable than Tears for Fears, and yes my system is calibrated correctly. Even worse when running in 4.1 (with Phantom center, but also in full 5.1.
Haha.. it's been remastered apparently yeah.. tweaked more than likely but who cares...
I care!
I remember when this album first came out (my introduction to the band was "New Gold Dream"). I purchased every (3) 12 inch single that was released. I loved the extended mixes and recorded them onto cassette and played them over and over and over again on my headphones via my Walkman. Eventually, I did get tired of Waterfront and to this day, I feel it's sort of boring. In retrospect, I love the whole album apart from the Lou Reed song. It seems out-of-place on the record. Though, they did an excellent job making his song their own but it should have been a "B" side. Apart from "Street Hassle", I liked the second side almost as much as the first and didn't feel it was weak at all. If they removed "Street Hassle", added another song and rearranged the tracks differently, the album may have flowed better.
If you haven't got it already the old Nimbus CDV is worth checking out..
