I know ...Fortuitously, I own ALL their exceptional multi~CH SACDS and was sad to see them disappear when TELARC withdrew from the SACD market!Heads Up is a great record label!
or PASS WIND and no one will know!If you really want a great job as a wind turbine tech, get one working on off-shore wind turbines. This is one of the rare jobs where you can get seasick before you get vertigo.

I dont like the trend of physical media going away!....If you know what I mean I still prefer having an actual hard copy of something I like rather than in streamed/broadcast form.( ..but those 'virtual forms' are ok for things less liked)
That's a lot of stock! I hope Netflix sells it to people like us instead of throwing all those discs away.I dont like the trend of physical media going away!....If you know what I mean I still prefer having an actual hard copy of something I like rather than in streamed/broadcast form.( ..but those 'virtual forms' are ok for things less liked)
Netflix did 'hang-on ' longer than Blockbuster though....
Well, Jack, if they ARE DVDs .... really not interested. Besides those rental discs are probably trashed. Years ago, there was an audio store in Greenwich, CT which used to rent laserdiscs. Can't tell you how many I rented but one particular one had peanut butter smeared all over it. YUKKY!That's a lot of stock! I'm still shocked that they were even renting discs in 2023! With a good cleaning many of them might be salvageable but surprise of surprises, many of the current SCREAM/SHOUT FACTORY UHD4K discs have very poor quality control .... skips, freezes and visible blemishes which even a good disc cleaner cannot erase!NO! THE NAME IS MISLEADING!
MOST OF NETFLIX DVD'S CATALOGUE IS BLU-RAY! MANY OF THEM OUT-OF-PRINT!
IT'S A DIRECT ATTACK ON LOSSLESS SURROUND!
Weβve had a DVD subscription to Netflix just because they have a lot of titles that are unavailable anywhere else. So my choices get narrowed down again.I'm still shocked that they were even renting discs in 2023! Which supports my claim that the average joe doesn't handle rental discs with proper care. Ashame since it spoils it for everyone else. I'm a stickler for handling all physical media by its sides avoiding any contact with the playing side itself. I know people who take their CDs out of the case to play in their cars and then stack them one on top of the other in the car's caddy ....... scratched and smudged beyond recognition.Weβve had a DVD subscription to Netflix just because they have a lot of titles that are unavailable anywhere else. Iβve probably had four or five discs that wouldnβt play. I think one didnβt respond to cleaning.
I've mentioned VUDU before and that might be of use to you. They don't have any original programming like Netflix but they have a much broader range of overlooked movies that others do not. When Tron:Legacy came out we saw it in a theater & was really revved up to see the original. It was showing no where on line except VUDU. Another good example is The Italian Job. It's pretty easy to run across this just at random but if you want to watch the original 1969 film with Michael Caine, VUDU has it. They also had a claim to streaming movies about a week before the actual disc release. Altho now with streaming, theater presentations, and disc releases all jumbled up I don't know how that shakes out.Weβve had a DVD subscription to Netflix just because they have a lot of titles that are unavailable anywhere else. Unfortunately, some folks are quite the pigs. Also, we will never have internet like most people, not around here anyway, so this service is now gone. This service was not internet/bandwidth driven. Hope it doesnt continue for other physical media (purchases) down the road. Pretty sure we'll be long gone by then.Which supports my claim that the average joe doesn't handle rental discs with proper care. Ashame since it spoils it for everyone else. I wonder if the guy who bought Gilmourβs black Strat is the one who bought this. Heβs a pretty serious collector.Eddie Van Halenβs βHot For Teacherβ Guitar Sold For Megabucks At Auction
Someone call a doctor, because the price a bidder paid for Eddie Van Halenβs iconic red, white and black-striped guitar from the βHot For Teacherβ video was sold for a song this week. According to auction house Sothebyβs, an unnamed bidder bought the instrument for $3,932,000 when the lot closed on Tuesday after bidding was initially estimated to land between $2-$3 million.
βThe legendary βHot for Teacherβ stage used and filmed guitar, custom made by Paul Unkert of Kramer Guitars for Eddie Van Halen, including important innovations customized for Eddieβs evolving guitar technique,β the listing read in describing the instrument Sothebyβs dubbed βone of the most iconic guitars of the MTV era.β
For you six-string obsessives out there, the auction house dove deeper into the details of the instrument the late guitarist wielded in the salacious 1984 Van Halen video featuring the band members and their school-age doppelgΓ€ngers lusting after their scantily clad instructors.
βPoplar double-cut βStratβ style body, the top routed for a single double-coil Seymour Duncan humbucker pickup, volume control, Floyd Rose bridge with whammy bar, unvarnished 22 fret maple bolt-on neck (stamped βUNKβ on heel) with Kramer sticker on headstock, unvarnished body and headstock spray painted with Van Halenβs characteristic black and white abstract stripe design on a red ground,β it reads of the guitar EVH slashes at as he rips off one of his patented fleet-fingered solos while strolling across a row of desks.
But wait, thereβs more. βRear routed for the Floyd Roseβs three springs and stop, no pick guard or rear cover (as designed), screw holes on the back for Eddie Van Halenβs patented flip-up rest (for playing the guitar horizontally. Original case with tour and Warner Brothers tags.β The guitar, made of poplar wood, is believed to have been completed in 1982 and delivered to Van Halen in Jan. 1983, becoming his main instrument during 1983-1984.
As a bonus, the winning bidder also took home the white straitjacket and white gloves worn by Van Halen in the video.
I think I have that hole too. Is it possible the two holes open to another universe? And are our holes connected to the same universe?I've got a hole in me pocket!
That random enough?
