I was going to say $400 million is cheap compared to $1 billion for the Queen deal, but that deal included publishing rights. And Queen do mostly agree, Freddie's estate and John Deacon have basic left Brian and Roger to it and said "if we don't agree with anything you'll hear about it".

Maybe a Sony Japan 7" deluxe version of the Wall!
Enclosed in a BRICK hand signed by Roger Waters …… but can you just imagine the DHL s/h charge from CDJapan?

Or you could just wait until it shows up at your local Brick and Mortar Record store!

I hope we do get The Wall in Atmos. It a brilliant record with so much extra-musical activity that it just screams for an immersive experience.
And if the Animals surround mix is any indication, James Guthrie has been getting more daring with his immersive mixes. Not only that but he was actually involved in the original production of this album, unlike any of the previous records.

The Wall is my most wanted surround mix, ever since I got into this hobby 5 years ago, I just hope it lives up to the hype.

Not to start any kind of a fight, but I would actually like to hear The Final Cut in 5.1 or Atmos. I know it isn't their best album (better than the Electric Moo studio disc) but I do think there is some great work on it.
Personally speaking The Final Cut is my favourite Floyd/Waters album and a 5.1 mix would be my absolute dream. I've never understood why so many people don't like it. For me it's a Tour de Force of songwriting genius and it's anti war to boot, apart from the bust up it caused, what's not to like.

I feel that Final Cut is practically a Waters solo album and as such, is too introspective, mellow and lacks a rock and roll feel. You can hear and feel Waters pushing the band aside and becoming consumed by himself. It reminds me of why I do not own any of the Waters solo projects. Also, some tracks sound like outtakes from The Wall.

Having said this, I appreciate you bringing the love for the album. We all react differently. As with most bands with releases spanning many years, opinions vary as time goes on.

Perhaps... But the only long time band member not playing on that album is Richard Wright.
I meant that more figuratively than literally. My observation is that Waters controlled much of the later years through the writing and musical direction. By the time of Final Cut, there was no longer a band feeling to the music from what I hear.

Gilmour was essentially a session musician on The Final Cut (no creative input) and Mason was mostly just mixing it. It's lyrically interesting and well done, but musically pretty uninspiring to me. Leftover tracks from an album that was already bloated. And I will always consider it a Waters solo album. But I certainly respect that some people love it. We all have our own tastes.

I would enjoy The Wall in Atmos and would probably pick up TFC as a completist if they remaster it. More interested in WYWH in Atmos. Hopefully the Meddle 5.1 mix can get a proper release and an Atmos treatment to go with it. Atmos mixes for AMLoR and TDB would be stellar as well. I'd be happy with Guthrie or Wilson re-mixing them.

I think it's probably a positive thing. All the childish nonsense that both Waters and Gilmour have engaged in won't be an obstacle holding up future releases.

My guess is that the next thing will be probably be that Dark Side live in '94 that Alan Parsons recently mixed. And then I imagine they'll move on to Wish You Were Here 50th anniversary stuff. Maybe we'll get an Atmos mix of that. And then possibly The Wall after that.
Will we see Andy Jackson's 5.1 mix of Meddle and 5.1 mix of Obscured by Clouds?
