I have all the Pink Floyd I could ever need...
Agreed. The Wall can hit the bricksI don't care what they do with The Wall anymore. I guess you can say that I have become comfortably numb on the matter.
Don't worry, Roger will find a way to meddle with it...What's going to happen with Meddle?
Enclosed in a BRICK hand signed by Roger Waters …… but can you just imagine the DHL s/h charge from CDJapan?Maybe a Sony Japan 7" deluxe version of the Wall!
And if the Animals surround mix is any indication, James Guthrie has been getting more daring with his immersive mixes. Not only that but he was actually involved in the original production of this album, unlike any of the previous records.I hope we do get The Wall in Atmos. It a brilliant record with so much extra-musical activity that it just screams for an immersive experience.
Personally speaking The Final Cut is my favourite Floyd/Waters album and a 5.1 mix would be my absolute dream. I've never understood why so many people don't like it. For me it's a Tour de Force of songwriting genius and it's anti war to boot, apart from the bust up it caused, what's not to like. Not to start any kind of a fight, but I would actually like to hear The Final Cut in 5.1 or Atmos. I know it isn't their best album (better than the Electric Moo studio disc) but I do think there is some great work on it.
I feel that Final Cut is practically a Waters solo album and as such, is too introspective, mellow and lacks a rock and roll feel. You can hear and feel Waters pushing the band aside and becoming consumed by himself. It reminds me of why I do not own any of the Waters solo projects. Also, some tracks sound like outtakes from The Wall.Personally speaking The Final Cut is my favourite Floyd/Waters album and a 5.1 mix would be my absolute dream. Really fun synced to Wizard of Oz also!Well, it would be cool to own a copy of DSOTM with the planetarium video.
No doubt, more rights issues.
Perhaps... But the only long time band member not playing on that album is Richard Wright.I feel that Final Cut is practically a Waters solo album and as such, is too introspective, mellow and lacks a rock and roll feel. I meant that more figuratively than literally. My observation is that Waters controlled much of the later years through the writing and musical direction. By the time of Final Cut, there was no longer a band feeling to the music from what I hear.Perhaps... But the only long time band member not playing on that album is Richard Wright.
Will we see Andy Jackson's 5.1 mix of Meddle and 5.1 mix of Obscured by Clouds?I think it's probably a positive thing. All the childish nonsense that both Waters and Gilmour have engaged in won't be an obstacle holding up future releases.
My guess is that the next thing will be probably be that Dark Side live in '94 that Alan Parsons recently mixed. And then I imagine they'll move on to Wish You Were Here 50th anniversary stuff. Maybe we'll get an Atmos mix of that. And then possibly The Wall after that.
Didn't they already get released as Easter eggs in one of the blu rays? Will we see Andy Jackson's 5.1 mix of Meddle and 5.1 mix of Obscured by Clouds?
