I put this on tonight. I think it would have been a masterpiece if they'd got Frank Zappa to write the lyrics. And maybe sing too?

I try to just listen to the instruments. Some good playing: the sounds are certainly of their time in the late 70s, when disco was sweeping the globe.

A friend lent me this, I have no idea where my copy is. Surprised track 1 sounds like it could be something right off the ABW&H album that came out in '89 (?)

Gotta say: I enjoyed watching the studio outtakes video from '76 more than listening to the final album though, so far.....aw, listen to me: I'm such a critic! Hell, these guys have more talent in their little finger than I'll ever aspire to.

I like the links you’re adding.
Good idea, thanks for the effort (y)

spinning a classic that I have never heard on vinyl...no reissues of this so it's a 1st US pressing.. sounds awesome!
btw, I always wondered why they gave her such an UGLY cover for the US release:

since I think this one from the European releases is MUCH nicer!

I can see the reason for the change. The US version looks much more 1987. The European version looks like something from the early 70s.

but it don't even LOOK like her!, looks like a guy in that b&w pic and I think she was VERY pretty.. still is at her age...
funny that I realized yesterday that I was listening to Poland's Astrud (RIP), probably in her memory...

I was working in retail at the time that album came out. I don't ever remember mistaking her for a guy. :ROFLMAO:

And CBS/Sony moved a buttload of that album so their more 'modern' album cover was probably a good marketing choice.

By the next one she got some $$$ so she got a real cover!
I love her albums, too bad this was the last one that got an LP release…which BTW, it’s cued up now in my TT

Also…
her 1st one was mixed in early digital but according to the spectrogram, there are no traces of it being digital…will post it later…what I call the “miracle of vinyl”
