This arrived at my doorstep today, a now quite belated (through no fault of the gift giver… just that the vinyl release was delayed until today) birthday gift.

Probably the last record I spin in this apartment as the plan this weekend is to pack up the computer/turntable area for my move to Denver next month.

I don't think any of you know, but I am my mom's caretaker. That duty was my brother's until he sadly passed away 3 yeats ago. I brought her down to Houston with me. She has glaucoma and is legally blind. But she is sharp as a tack mentally. She also puts up with my music.

I said, "Mom, you love Penguin In Bondage?"

She said, "Oh yeah, you know it "

Be sure to pack that turntable carefully and don’t depend on “this side up” arrows or anything like that. I lost a nice a/t table in my cross-country move a few years ago, and it still hurts.

Anyone who dedicates an album to both Groucho Marx and Elvis Presley is ok in my books.

Speaking of books: Greg's "Travels with my Amp" is a fun read. Entertaining, and a window back in time to 70s touring band rock and roll excesses.
