A question from an ignorant. Does the Robert Ludwig mastered pressing sound better than the original or last remastered CD?
I know these are sought after just wonder what I am missing....

What is RL pressing? I wouldn't mind searching for that one, just to see what they cost and their condition
It's the original pressing by Robert Ludwig, which was pulled after a very short time (only a few weeks I think) because it had TOO MUCH BASS LOL. The story goes that the daughter of the big cheese at Atlantic Records (I don't recall if it was Ahmet Ertegun or Jerry Wexler) played it on her phonograph and the needle was skipping all over the place, so they wanted to dial back the bass. So these have become quite rare and sought after, and command very high prices in the used market. (Hopefully I have all the facts right on the story.) I have not heard one but it is said it is easily the best sounding vinyl version of LZ II.

I think it was Ahmet's daughter. And, I can confirm that it definitely does sound better. I have some samples from PB's rip of his RL. My RLs are generally in VG quality. The one I play is probably VG+ I found in Manhattan for $31. The owner of the store didn't know what he had. I almost let out a gasp when I saw the RLs in the deadwax.

Anyway @GOS, I would be willing to part with one for a reasonable price. These knuckleheads on eBay will list one in Poor condition for $250. That's b.s. I just wouldn't feel right selling one for such a ridiculous price.
