Never got to see Jeff in person and it will always be a regret. He ranks number one with me for guitar players, too.

After I posted here, I did manage to find the Japanese versions in this series of Wired and Blow By Blow on eBay and Discogs, so I look forward to those arriving in a couple of weeks.
Also love 'There and Back', always thought the album could use an updated mastering to give it more detail and punch- of course a nice 5.1 mix by a master would be awesome!

I have this LP by Friday Music, which sounds OK IMO-

I did see Jeff once, Stevie Ray opened for him - I thought Jeff was in a weird period during that time and used his whammy bar way too much, at least for that show. :)

SRV... another wonderful guitar player!

T&B tops my list of “Albums I really want in surround, but probably completely unrealistic and I need to move on with life.”

But, yeah, a 5.1 (or an even more unrealistic special-made quad) would bring an unmeasurable amount of joy.

I saw these guys warm up for Dream Theater a few years ago. Immediately went to their website and bought this. Recommended if you like instrumental prog-metal.

Just bookmarked the three full albums they have on Apple Music to listen to while I work this week. (Looks like they have a couple of EPs, too.)

Not too far away from the DT offshoot Liquid Tension Experiment, at least from a quick jump around some of their songs.

Progarchives doesn't seem to rate their second album as highly as this and their third. I also bought one of their EPs when I picked these up. I have only heard this one, so far.

:DDreaming surround. Jethro Tull 1987 Crest Of A Knave (Canadian LP) Said She Was A Dancer

When I dove back into vinyl last year, this was one of the must-make purchases (although not Canadian).

Also got a 2-LP version of 20 Years of Jethro Tull for nostalgic reasons. The CD version was one of my earliest box-set purchases.

And yeah... dreaming of a surround version of ...Knave.

I needed a “vinyl victory” today. In the past week, two brand new, sealed albums came with either some skips or a spot where the stylus stuck... on favorite songs no-less. Tried cleaning but no luck.

I figured (wished/hoped) that a MoFi album wouldn’t let me down. A bit of noise here and there, but nothing that made me want to snap it half and chuck it out the door.

I had planned to spin something else today, but with the news of Sykes’ passing, this seemed more appropriate.

Obviously John’s playing is wonderful, but Tony Franklin’s fretless bass playing on this is fantastic, too.

I could be wrong, but I think this was the only Blue Murder or Sykes solo album to make it to vinyl. Would nice to see it all get the vinyl treatment now.
