This is a terrible mess
And Universal who own Motown
are not investing in their old Vault stuff
There is a Marvin Gaye 1973 set they have put it out
on downloads only, Could be like a 5 CD box set.

So Universal now is not to be trusted at all.

Also Stevie Wonder today,is no longer with Motown/Universal.

Margouleff seems to be making the rounds again. Heard him recently on an episode of the Broken Record podcast; now he's penned an article in the new issue of Mix magazine, "Stevie Wonder and the Quadraphonic Pioneers." (Scroll to p. 38.) A lot of the same stories we've heard before, though in a slightly different frame and with some new details. Still a fascinating read.

Two-part article written by Robert Margouleff where he talks about mixing Superstition in quad. The majority of it isn't "new" information, aside from the fact that they were mixing for QS circa 1972, which would explain why the majority of the Motown quads that would eventually be issued in Japan on CD-4 LPs in 1974 and 1975 were from 1973 or earlier. Some cool pictures of the Record Plant's LA location, which would end up doing quite a bit of quad mixing in the following years, including the Isley Bros. and Donald Byrd amongst others.
