Now I am listening to Miles Davis "Kind of Blue", the brand new version by High Definition Tape Transfers DSD256 2 channel, in quad via the Surround Master v3. Very nice!

I'd say 90% of the time when I use the SM v3, I like it. Occasionally, on some jazz with horns, the horns can be too pronounced from the surround speakers. Not so on "Kind of Blue" - I like it lots!

I just knew this one would sound amazing through this thing! I don’t have this album physically but it sounds great even through Spotify. Opens the song up beautifully and if I didn’t know better I’d say it was a proper multitrack remix.

Main vocals stay in front while the harmony vocals are mixed to the back to great effect! Lush acoustic guitars and keyboard textures fill the rears beautifully. Check this out if you have any interest in prog (even in stereo, it’s a fantastic song).

EDIT: I just looked these guys up out of curiosity and they’re actually a supergroup consisting mainly of members from Spock‘s Beard!

Eno and the SM seem to be a winning combo! Found this in the sale bin at Squeezebox today. I asked Tim, the owner, what was up. He explained that side A had only been played one and a half times: the first half was at 33 1/3 rpm until the owner realized Eno sounded a tad off; the second time all the way through was at 45 rpm, after which she decided she did NOT want to "get up every seven minutes to turn the record over," so she sold it back to Squeezebox! Well, at my age, getting up "every seven minutes" is about all the exercise i get! Glad to hear this one!

Ha ha getting up every 7 minutes to flip the record will match my bathroom breaks.......
I still have my copy I bought when it came out with 4 original art prints.

Come April you'll be moving your shopping cart every 7 minutes at the request of a man in blue.

Hmm, maybe i'll try and find my prints, laminate them, and decorate my shopping cart! Those were cool prints. I fear they did not make it through the years.

Is that a 7-inch record or a 12-inch record? 7 minutes is about the max for a 7-inch 45 side.

A 12-inch 45 side plays about 15 minutes. I have several.

It's two 12" 45 rpm LPs. I think the previous owner was being ever so slightly hyperbolic . . . or may be a fan of prime numbers. Though, the way the original release is broken down over four sides does make it so that the first side is the shortest at a smidge over 7:30. Regardless, her frustration is my gain! I do quite enjoy the sound on these 45 rpm 12 inchers, but the price! Hoo boy! That's why i was pleasantly surprised to find this in the sale bin and even more overjoyed to hear how it arrived, having barely been played. What 12" 45 rpms do you own?

Just when i think i've found the best version of Parachute by the Pretty Things, this special 50th anniversary limited edition from Madfish arrives from Germany! From discogs: "Cut directly from the original Abbey Road master tapes and with a second LP featuring one side of rare singles and B-sides and one with an original etching by Phil May. "AMAZING! My search is over – this is going to be my go-to version through the SM v.2. Plus, can one really have too many parachutes? Keep Spinning, Comrades! And Stay Surrounded with the SM!

Several disco singles and the Eugen Jochum Beethoven symphonies on Angel.
