I used to bemoan the lack of jazz titles in surround . . . the SM v.2 has set things right! Jazz sounds AMAZING through the blue-eyed box!

wOw! This LP sounds AMAZING through the SM v.2! Can't wait to hear the Atmos mix on the Blu-ray! My wife is upstairs in the 7.1 space, working on a post-graduate paper. Until then, i'm REALLY digging this through the Surround Master! Great album–Fully Completely, for sure!

The Tragically Hip - Fully Completely

This album was superb using the SM. Standouts include Space Oddity (I swear at one point the voice was coming out almost exclusively in the right rear) and Suffragette City (where the rears seemed more active than the fronts!) The guitars in the beginning of Rebel Rebel were also pretty incredible, filling the room.

This sounds exquisite through the SMV3. Other than being a fantastic later period Joni record, the lush production of this recording perfectly lends itself to the Surround Master’s ability to spread out the soundstage. I would say for most of the songs it could be chalked up as “ambience in rears”, something most of us here would frown upon in discrete surround mixes, but I think it works very well in this context and there are plenty of “discrete” moments, most notably Joni’s voice is stable up front while backing vocals surround you in “How Do You Stop”.

I don’t mind the sometimes ambient rears so much because listening to what’s going on upfront is so believably discrete, for example acoustic guitar and Joni’s vocal stay front and center with reverberations filling the surround channels.

Very interested to hear the other Larry Klein produced records through the SM, such as Night Ride Home.

Seriously, give Turbulent Indigo a shot.
