Wow. The SM blew me away with this album. The background vocals by Ben Watt were clearly in the rears on "Driving" - like it was mixed for surround. Tracey Thorn's vocals throughout the album were so full! And I only have the CD of this.....

has anyone listened to King Gizzard & the Wizard Lizard (fellow chucky's aussies) through the SM, Today I was listening to them in the car, just a plain car stereo, and somehow there were sound comeing forme everywhere, and I instantly thought...shit this would be amazeballs with the surround master.

If I dont forget Ill try to listen tonight at home, but I will probably forget.

I have been converting my Q8's, Q4's and quad records to either DTS CD's and DVD-Audios for quite a few years now. I received the Surround Master last week, It arrived the same time my Windows NT Computer with the 10 channel audio card had its power supply die. After getting that fixed I picked a couple of random SQ records ,played them through the Surround Master and made my quad DTS disc. Played it back through my fancy home theatre system. I swear it felt I was listening the the 4 channel master tape (except for a couple of crackles - these LP's are gettin' old)
Congratulations to my fellow Aussies for creating a 2024 device for a 1974 record.

I listen to pretty much all of my stereo recordings and streaming through my Surround Mater (v2). It always sounds great, but where the Surround Master really shines is with live recordings, such as Bill Evans “Sunday at the Village Vanguard”.

The Surround Master put Scott LaFarro’s double bass in the rear left channel, Bill’s Piano split among the front and rear right channels, and Paul Motian’s drums somewhere in the undefined space.

But the various audience noises (clicking silverware, coughs, grunts, chatter) were placed all over my room. I kept being startled that there were people in my house.

I was llistening to some of Mannheim Steamroller CD's today, mostly the Fresh Aire series, and I swear they sound like they've been encoded for surround!. Played in the 4.1 Involve mode, the separation was downright discrete! Check out Fresh Aire 1 and III, and the Mannheim Steamroller 25th Anniversary double CD.

Not just 1970-1976. It works on all Dolby Surround recordings.

I LOVE the sound of jazz in the morning, when played through the Surround Master: Wayne Shorter is to my right, Lee Morgan to my left, bass and piano are locked up front, and it feels as if i'm in the midst of Blakey's kit, though it is mostly from the right! It sounds like . . . VICTORY!

This release is already one fun and wacky trip; playing it through the Surround Master takes it to the next level! Percussion, keyboards, funky sound effects, and Clinton's vocal pyrotechnics all assault me from the four corners of my space (is mos def the place!). Bootsy's bass is anchored upfront, and guitar solos from Eddie Hazel and Gary Shider bring me serious surround joy! Doll sold separately!
