That I never knew…that they were a UK band. 😲

There were a few clues around for those of us who grew up with them, flipping through vinyl albums in record stores. ;)

Not exactly cheap at $35 each after shipping, but it's worth supporting this project.
Yes! So glad SDE is doing this. Having full-res audio of the Atmos mix on physical, rather than the limited-bandwidth of streaming Atmos makes it so valuable to those with decent playback systems. I hope it is a viable business model for Paul Sinclair, and that it continues.

My first surround experience was at a DTS booth at an AES show back in the day when they produced and released the Eagles Hell Freezes Over DVD. I was hooked - went home and set up a 5.1 system with Pioneer Elite receiver and Cambridge Soundworks sub and speakers (Henry Kloss's last company).

Was knocked out by the audio and video presentation, and hence my collection of surround titles began. Upgraded to Focal speakers later - since I was their North American distributor I got a good price on them! ;-)

Just moved to the Nashville area, and an upgrading to a 7.1.4 Atmos system, so these discs will be put to very good use. Audiophile listening parties are on the horizon, I'm stoked.

Woke up to see this. I already have the surround dvd...contemplated.....(because I don't normally re-purchase surround music I already have) and...Immediately ordered!. I'm addicted to these little bluray audio discs in clear cases. Only 1000 copies available ( I don't understand this and the reason why I got the green weenie on the Gilbert Osullivan disc). This was one of those "Robin" reels made available to the select few back in the day. Great album, a true blast from the past.

I think the pounds to dollars conversion rate must be creeping up. Stupid pending US recession.

I paid a £1 to $1.24 conversion. It's not really a big deal but not like really super great either.
I'm in the unusual situation of effectively being paid in both USD (due to US share options) and GBP, and I have bank accounts and debit cards in both. I still have to pay postage to get stuff to the UK though.

I’m surprised at the number of QQers that have little or no knowledge of this great band.
I’ve been thinking about this a bit while listening to the original album to familiarize myself with it.

When I got to I’d Love To Change The World, I immediately recognized it, but had never made a firm connection with it being a Ten Years After song. As someone who read lots of guitar magazines in my youth, I know there’s a lot of respect for Alvin Lee, but I never took the time to explore the band’s discography.

Someone with more awareness of that time might be able to address if, for the general public or those not tuned into Woodstock, TYA was just one of those bands where some songs are popular, but (oddly) the band isn’t easily familiar to people.

Also spending the morning learning I’d Love To Change The World on guitar. The main acoustic part is easy enough. Lee loses me a bit on the soloing. Simple blues scale in E but I think my destiny is (merely competent) rhythm playing.

In a couple of months, a music-library injustice will be fixed and a TYA album will be mine. Still thrilled to bits with the mix options we’re getting with this one.

Hey all...Just a heads up here- I mentioned in an earlier post here that I'd order this one & also 'Concert for George'. I contacted SDE about combining orders. (since both were pre-orders & neither had shipped yet). They said they couldn't but Suggested I could cancel both & do 1 order.
So they had to do the canceling & I immediately re-ordered.(...maybe 5 minutes after they canceled. I did receive email notices of cancellations/refunds).
I Saved 4 gbp( lbs) on shipping costs ..sorry I don't have that symbol on my tablet.
SDE canceled my 2 orders withIn minutes of when I sent them an email asking them how to do so. Great customer service😀
....as a side note, I was a bit concerned about canceling the orders then not being able to re-order the pre-order of one or both of the titles.
So I checked beforehand & saw both were still available.
I'd suggest if anyone else goes to cancel single orders, to check if they are still available to be re-ordered as a combined order!
You probably wouldn't like canceling then wind up with a big nothing burger!

I'm a little surprised SDE went this route, I'm thinking more like 2-3000 copies would be about right. Also, I thought SDE had decided to let the "market" demand determine how many copies to produce after 2 weeks up for sale? I guess each release has it's own party's influence and behind the scenes deals that have to be worked out. 🧐

I also thought about ordering 2 copies myself, as sometimes the delivery services screw up and delivers to the wrong address around here; or porch pirates can rip you off. But you'd need to order them separately, so as not to get shipped in the same package. But, I just went with one, because I knew there'd be casual-visiting folks here that will get cut out of this and be crying the blues soon enough anyways!

Hopefully a second production run will get the go ahead at some point.

It's nice to see a corrected version of this being released. 😄

A short while ago there was a discussion about how to correct the channel assignment of the CD version. This was from our old friend OD posted on his blog "The Matrix". His post was a bit confusing in that he was referring back to comments in the forum about the DTS disc! It turns out that there was a CD containing the stereo version and the "SQ Quadraphonic to stereo mix", released about the same time as the LP/DTS disc and by the same label. Some were discussing that in the DTS thead! In typical fashion the confusion sparked a firestorm over there, fueled partly by my comments. Oddly posts were quickly removed over here even though the negative response was mostly over there! I know that the point of all this is rather moot now, but I just can't get over that the mistake was made in the first place! In the case of the SQ CD, they would have had to phase shift the original SQ encode to reverse the front and back channels or less likely re-encode it from the incorrect discrete mix. Calling it SQ Quad to stereo is also confusing as the SQ encode is already stereo!

Surprising that many here have never heard this iconic album but then again it's not so surprising as we baby boomers are now becoming the minority!

Also have to say that my favourite Ten Years After album is "Rock & Roll Music To The World" despite being released in 1972 there was (sadly) no quad release :( .
