I ordered from Amazon FR so I wont be getting mine until the second week in October. Boo Hoo! Good preorder price however. Since this is coming from France maybe they will include some cheese to go with my whine for waiting............:)

Like Pepper? Haha.

For those who saw Sir Paul on the Colbert show last night; did you notice, he not once mentioned the 50th Anniversary Abbey Road release. Guess any warm body with a pulse remotely interested in music should know anyway.

"You know my first guest because he's Paul McCartney" was a perfect introduction and a serious contender for the It's Funny Because It's True Hall of Fame.

I have a little tale to tell

I have been watching my Amazon order to see if it was being dispatched. It was not. So I got onto the Amazon chat line to see what was going on. I was told that I would not get the Pre-Order on the 27th as this was it's release day!!
I then spent a good half hour discussing this attitude with Amazon. The chat assistant was not willing to back down and insisted that he was right. I had to get very angry with him to make him realise his response was completely wrong. He even stated that the, stated, arrival date was a technical error. All this is on an email version of the chat we had.

He finally agreed that he would contact the shipping department to hasten its dispatch, after I requested to speak to his supervisor.
I have now received confirmation that it has been dispatched.
The outcome of this is that I have cancelled other pre-orders and will I be giving my future business to Burning Shed.

I am posting this, in case other QQr's have had similar problems, or might receive similar treatment.
.
To say I am very angry with Amazon, is putting it mildly.

Sorry to dampen the excitement and anticipation of this important release.

Anyway I've vented my frustration and cannot wait to hear this musical gem. :SG:SG:SG:SG

Actually, I checked my Amazon order two days ago and it stated "change shipping to two days and it will speed up delivery."

Huh? I have Prime, so it is two days anyway. However, I changed the shipping (it even gave me the option to make it two days, and was still free).

Upshot? My order is due to arrive tomorrow before 8:00 !!!

Something weird there -- but hey, tomorrow only knows :dance

Did you pay to join Bezos' exclusive little Prime club?

Well, yea, I order enough to make shipping costs worth it, plus I like the movie service. However, my order just updated to say "shipped" and the due date changed back to Friday .

I suspect all music services are feeling the tsunami right now . . . this is truly an event! Can only imagine what a lowly chat line person in a highly impersonalized business has to deal with. . . .

Thanks for the link Jonathan to this somewhat immersive review by "Mark Smotroff" (guitarist with the band ing) Mark should be a member here at QQ, I think he'd fit right in, if he's not already here hiding out

As a musician I think Mark gave us a little further look into the details of the music here. Some of his thoughts on "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" goes to exactly why we need surround music that gives us that extra layer of expansiveness with a multitude of vocals and instrumentation-

"Great raw guitar amplifier tones come through the front left channels and that big Organ -- played by Billy Preston -- is super up front now... and seemingly everywhere! His previously buried-in-the-mix solo is fantastic but due to the broader mixing canvas that 5.1 surround sound affords it doesn't really step on the rest of the music (which is probably why it was buried in the Stereo mix.)"

Also an Easter Egg for "Something" to find and much more!
