Great news. Robert Smith is always very 'hands on' with Cure releases - he tries to control everything when he can. 99% of the time this means that things go well (if you like his choices, which I very much tend to). The only example of a mis-step I can think of is for their eponymous album in the early noughties which was very compressed and had a very 'rock' sound, which didn't suit them.

He often gets involved in the stereo remixing, has created many 'dance' remixes of Cure tracks and has even mixed for other people. So the dream result is that he's got into immersive mixing himself and has approved mixes from a skilled mixer and will then want to carry on with other releases. Worst case scenario is that he has been persuaded to have an Atmos mix "because it's what everybody does these days" and if it is sub-par he will be put off them forever. But he's been promising this new album for at least 10 years (last album was 2008) and they haven't quite finished issuing deluxe versions of their albums, a process which started in 2006. So even if he wants to reissue again in surround it might take a while! Still, quality not quantity!

This is all conjecture of course, but my short thought is that Robert normally gets personally involved (at an approval level at least) to ensure high quality for his fans so this ought to be no different.

I'm sure I've posted this before but here's a reminder that it just wouldn't do to get too excited about this. ;)

Infringing Album Artwork

What a joke. Apparently, they hate free promotion. Funny how the original Amazon image links work just fine.

I hope the 5.1 is better on the SACD than dvd because that was woeful šŸ˜ž
It was so bad I only bothered to rip the stereo tracks. If memory serves, it was just reverb at the back. That said, I'd always play the Standing On The Beach / Staring At The Sea compilation in preference anyway on the grounds it includes Charlotte Sometimes.

Anyway, unless it turns out to be awful, Ill buy the new album just in the hope that it spurs Bob to release an atmos mix of Disentegration

This has to be a first in the history of QQ, hiring a lawyer/copyright bully to send out "don't share the artwork the we ourselves shared" notices. If we got one then I bet a hundred or a thousand other sites must've got them too.

Maybe this is part of some "retro" marketing campaign because it takes me back 20 years when housewives were getting sued for downloading one mp3, and Van Morrison successfully sued his biggest fan website out of existence. <Chef's kiss>

Oh FFS...

HERE is where the images came from: https://www.amazon.fr/TBC-Tbc/dp/B0DGVBJVZX/

so they are out there and they have been out there for the last few days

and people wonder why the music industry is so despised...
Lol, when I open that link I get lots of acrylic pens. Perhaps I should make my own fantasy cover as long as the official one is forbidden :SG
